Charlize Theron Details Rock Climbing With “Daredevil” Daughter August

Charlize Theron‘s motherhood journey is the tops.

I was so thrilled to hear how close Angelina has gotten with her daughter August! Apparently, while getting ready for her new movie, Apex, she and 11-year-old August started rock climbing together. She even brought August to the gym with her and her trainer, the amazing Beth Rodden. It’s just lovely to see them bonding over something so active and fun!

There, the “adventurous” August would go climbing with Beth’s 10-year-old son. 

Oh my gosh, you guys, I was there at the Apex premiere in New York, and Charlize told TopMob News the cutest thing! She was talking about working with Beth, and apparently, this woman is a total daredevil! Charlize said whenever she got tired during filming, she’d just look over and Beth and another stunt performer were scaling these massive walls! Seriously, it sounds insane and amazing, and it just makes me love them both even more! I can’t stop thinking about it!

And for the 50-year-old, it was “really good for me to see that.”

Charlize explained that as adults, we often get bogged down in the details. But then you see kids who are completely focused on the goal – just wanting to reach the top, without overthinking things.

 

It was just the motivation she needed to push herself.

Charlize explained that the message was simple: ‘Just reach the top.’ She enjoyed being able to share that feeling with the other person.

Charlize Theron, who is a mom to 14-year-old Jackson, isn’t planning a big, adventurous celebration with her kids this Mother’s Day. It seems she’s opting for something a little more low-key.

“They better bring me tea or something in bed,” the Atomic Blonde actress quipped. “Hint, hint.”

Charlize hoped for a quiet Mother’s Day, but she usually loves excitement, particularly when it comes to action movies.

She explained that our bodies communicate a great deal. Actors often rely too much on dialogue, and removing words forces them to focus on the crucial connection between their thoughts and physical presence. This is a valuable exercise for honing their craft.

But that’s not to say the Old Guard star is “sitting around waiting” for action movie parts.

“It’s actually the opposite,” she added. “I like being an actor that can diversify, but this was, to me, such a bad ass movie.”

Apex, also starring Taron Egerton, premieres globally on Netflix April 24.
