The newest update for Pearl Abyss’s Crimson Desert is a big one, and it includes several helpful improvements. As often happens with large updates to complex games, though, players have also discovered some changes that weren’t officially announced.
So, I’ve been keeping an eye on the Reddit thread tracking the latest game update, and it’s a bit of a mixed bag. Some things are annoying – the pause menu is way too bright, and honestly, collecting seeds feels like a real grind now. But it’s not all bad! I’m definitely seeing more loot and money dropping from bandits and other enemies, which is awesome. Plus, the Duo mini-game is way faster, and they changed that quest where you need three wins – you don’t have to get them all in a row anymore, which is a huge relief!
Focus now recharges significantly faster, almost twice as quickly as before, and teleportation is much speedier. Plus, vines seem to burn away much faster when exposed to Focused Light, though that might not be entirely realistic.
Pearl Abyss has a history of surprisingly keeping accidental bugs if players like them – remember the Focused Aerial Roll? So, they might decide to keep some of the recent changes that players are enjoying. However, we can still expect a quick update to fix any really frustrating problems. For details on bigger additions to the game, check out the latest post on the developer’s blog.
