It looks like LEGO is finally releasing a Shrek set in 2026! It’s a bit delayed, but fans will surely be excited.
It’s been 25 years since the popular animated film Shrek debuted, and LEGO has just revealed its first-ever building sets based on the movie. As Shrek himself would say, “Hey now!”
The Swamp Has Never Looked Better
To celebrate 25 years of Shrek, LEGO is releasing a collection of sets that fans have been requesting for years. The main set is a detailed, buildable version of Shrek’s Swamp, complete with his crooked house, the “Beware Ogre” sign, and even the outhouse – everything you’d expect! Puss in Boots is also included as a minifigure.
In addition to the swamp-themed set, LEGO is launching BrickHeadz figures of Shrek, Gingy, and Donkey. You might not have realized it, but a LEGO Donkey is exactly what you’ve been waiting for!
Pricing and Availability
As someone who totally grew up with Shrek in the cinema, this collection feels like it’s made for people like me now! We’re past building LEGOs on the floor – these sets are definitely meant to be shown off on desks and shelves. The swamp set, in particular, is a really impressive display piece – it’s not a toy for kids, that’s for sure!
If you have young children who are new to the world of Shrek’s Far Far Away, building these LEGO sets together could be a fun activity for the weekend, particularly with the collectible BrickHeadz figures.

LEGO does a fantastic job with sets based on popular culture when they choose the right properties, and Shrek seems like a perfect match. The movie franchise has only become more popular over the years, making it a great fit for LEGO’s building system.
