With new episodes of The Boys’ fifth and final season being released each week, fans can take comfort in knowing that the world of the show will live on beyond the series finale.
Unfortunately, the spin-off series Gen V, set in a college universe, has been cancelled after only two seasons.
As a huge fan of ‘The Boys,’ I was thrilled when season two dropped in October 2025! The way it ended, with Marie and her crew getting recruited by Starlight and A-Train to take on Homelander, was a fantastic setup. I’ve been eagerly awaiting their appearance in season five, and while they haven’t shown up yet, the creators have promised they’ll be joining the battle later on.
So, the news about Gen V not getting another season is a bummer, but the producers, Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg, have reassured fans that this isn’t the last we’ll see of these characters. They’ve confirmed that the Gen V crew will be popping up in season five of The Boys, and they’ve hinted at even more VCU (that’s the Boys universe) projects down the line. Basically, don’t worry – these heroes (and villains) aren’t gone for good!

So, we knew these characters were popping up in The Boys, but now it sounds like Vought is really planning to use them across multiple projects – basically building out a full cinematic universe. It’s exciting to think about where they might show up next!
More shows are also being developed, including ‘Vought Rising,’ a prequel set to launch in 2027 that will explore the origins of Soldier Boy and Stormfront. Another series, ‘The Boys: Mexico,’ is also currently being worked on.
Considering the show’s timeline, it’s more probable that characters from Gen V – Marie, Emma (played by Lizze Broadway), Cate (played by Maddie Phillips), Jordan (played by Derek Luh and London Thor), Sam (played by Asa Germann), and Annabeth (played by Keeya King) – will appear in The Boys: Mexico before Vought Rising.

It’s also possible these characters might appear in a future spin-off series, even though we don’t have any information about it yet.
You can watch all of Gen V seasons 1 and 2 on Prime Video right now. For fans of The Boys, new episodes of season 5 are released every Wednesday, and the first four seasons are also available to stream. You can try Amazon Prime Video for free for 30 days.
