HoYoverse, the creator of popular free-to-play RPGs like Genshin Impact, is known for getting this balance right. That’s why many gamers are excited about their next big game coming to Steam later this year, especially those who enjoy sci-fi and cyberpunk RPGs.
HoYoverse has announced that its free-to-play game, Zenless Zone Zero, is now available on Steam. The sci-fi RPG originally launched in 2024 for PC, PlayStation 5, and mobile, but PC players could only access it through a separate launcher or the Epic Games Store. This Steam release is great news, especially for those who prefer to manage all their games in one central location.
HoYoverse’s Zenless Zone Zero is Headed to Steam in 2026
If you’re familiar with HoYoverse from games like Genshin Impact, their new game, Zenless Zone Zero, offers a different experience. This action RPG takes place in a post-apocalyptic city filled with fantasy elements. Players become ‘Proxies’ who use technology to fight against dangerous anomalies called ‘Hollows’. The game features exciting and diverse combat, along with a team of unique characters (‘Agents’) that you can collect. Since its release, Zenless Zone Zero has been recognized with several awards, including nominations for Best Mobile Game and wins for its beautiful graphics. Now, it’s becoming available on Steam.
While we don’t have a specific release date yet, Zenless Zone Zero is expected to launch on Steam in the second quarter of 2026 – so the wait shouldn’t be too long! If you’d like to try the game on Steam before its official release, you can apply for the Steam Advance Testing program. You’ll find details and the application on the game’s official Steam page. You can also add Zenless Zone Zero to your Steam wishlist to be notified as soon as it’s available on PC.
It’s currently unclear if ZZZ will work on the Steam Deck. However, we expect to know more before the game officially launches on Steam. Because the game already runs on iOS and Android, there’s a good chance it will also be compatible with the Steam Deck.
HoYoverse has announced that a major update, Version 2.8 titled “New: Eridan Sunset,” is coming to Zenless Zone Zero on May 6th. This update concludes Season 2’s story and adds new characters to recruit. Players on all platforms, including the newly announced Steam version, will be able to enjoy the new content together, and those starting on Steam can continue their progress seamlessly with existing accounts.
Zenless Zone Zero is now available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, iOS, and Android devices. You can download and play it for free, with the option to buy items within the game. It will also be released on Steam later in 2024.
