With the new Spider-Man: Brand New Day coming soon, we’re starting to see more promotional items like toys and merchandise. These give us a better look at the characters and even suggest what might happen in the story. Usually, big Marvel movies are good at keeping secrets, especially after some early releases accidentally revealed plot points. We’ve seen LEGO and Funko toys spoil details before, and various toy lines actually confirmed a lot about Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk. Now, something really interesting has appeared!
The ending of Spider-Man: No Way Home saw Doctor Strange erase everyone’s memory of Peter Parker being Spider-Man, which immediately led fans to search for ways the spell might not have worked perfectly. A popular theory focused on the Hulk: since only Bruce Banner was consciously present when the spell was cast—with the Hulk suppressed by Banner’s technology—some believed the Hulk wouldn’t have been affected. Now, a new Hulk action figure from the Brand New Day line confirms we’ll get an answer to this question. The official description for the Marvel Legends Series Hulk reveals that Spider-Man will encounter the Hulk again and isn’t sure if the Hulk will remember him, leaving fans wondering if the Hulk will be an ally or an enemy.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day’s Hulk Story Keeps Getting More Exciting

It’s noteworthy that the Hulk’s memories may have remained intact differently than Bruce Banner’s, considering what we’ve learned about Banner’s story. The trailer for Spider-Man: Brand New Day confirms that Banner doesn’t recognize Peter Parker when they reconnect in his classroom. It seems Peter seeks out Banner, hoping for answers about his unusual new powers, and this risky move will likely expose his secret identity. However, initially, Banner doesn’t even know who Peter is.
Fans can expect to see the classic Savage Hulk return, after he was replaced by the Smart Hulk in Avengers: Endgame. Recent merchandise releases, and rumors beforehand, confirm this. Interestingly, a new Hulk figure from Hasbro shows him battling Spider-Man. While this might suggest Hulk doesn’t remember Peter Parker, it’s more complicated than that. The memory-altering spell only erased memories of Peter Parker specifically, meaning Hulk still recognizes Spider-Man as a hero and ally. Therefore, their fight isn’t about whether the spell affected Hulk’s memory at all – it must be caused by something else.
Considering all of this, the fact that Hulk might remember Spider-Man adds a lot of weight to the story in Brand New Day. Fans have been speculating about this for five years, so hopefully we’ll get some answers. Even if we don’t, it’s still exciting to have the original Hulk back! What are your thoughts?
