
Season 3 of House of the Dragon could bring back a character that many thought had been left out of the show entirely. Interestingly, this character’s removal initially upset author George R.R. Martin so much that he publicly voiced his concerns in a blog post (which has since been deleted), revealing tension with the show’s creator, Ryan Condal.
The latest trailer for House of the Dragon Season 3 appears to show Helaena Targaryen in labor. While it’s not confirmed, this could signal the introduction of Prince Maelor Targaryen, Helaena and King Aegon II’s youngest son. In the source material, Maelor appears much earlier, playing a role in the tragic ‘Blood and Cheese’ event where Helaena is forced to choose between her two sons, Jaehaerys and Maelor.
