Good news is finally arriving for fans eagerly awaiting the third and final Spider-Verse movie! After several years of delays, production is moving forward thanks to changes at Marvel Studios.
Let’s talk more about that shortly. First, it’s important to remember how groundbreaking the previous two films were. Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018) and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse (2023) truly redefined animated Spider-Man movies and introduced audiences to the amazing Miles Morales.
Starting May 1st, fans who don’t have Disney+ will have another way to watch Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse – one of the first two highly-rated films in this billion-dollar series – without needing to rent or buy it digitally.
What’s the Latest with Marvel’s Spider-Verse?
All good news, thankfully, and finally.
Production of Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse faced multiple delays. However, Marvel recently reorganized some of its teams, which seems to have significantly sped things up. Animation is now well underway – it began weeks ago – and the team is already sharing progress with Marvel Studios executives and the voice actors involved.
Brian Tyree Henry, who voices Miles Morales’ father, Jefferson Davis, described the latest installment as ‘even more epic’ than the previous one, and warned viewers to prepare for an emotional experience.
A major announcement confirms that all the most popular characters will appear in Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse. However, not everyone will make it through alive, as the heroes face not only The Spot, but also a dangerous version of Miles Morales from another universe – The Prowler – in the final installment.
The Spider-Verse Is Not Ending After the Marvel Trilogy Concludes
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse promises many unforgettable scenes, but the conclusion of Miles Morales’ story arc is likely to be a particularly emotional moment for Marvel fans, considering how well-developed and impactful his journey has been.
But, the spectacular news is the Spider-Verse won’t end with the 2027 film.
As a huge fan of the Spider-Verse, I’m incredibly excited about all the spin-offs coming! We already know Nicolas Cage is starring in Spider-Noir, which is hitting screens in May 2026. Beyond that, Marvel is moving forward with live-action versions of Spider-Punk and Spider-Gwen, and honestly, the buzz around Spider-Gwen is already huge. It’s going to be amazing to see these different corners of the Spider-Verse expanded on!
The Spider-Verse franchise is continuing to thrive, with its first two movies still incredibly popular on streaming platforms after years of release.
Spider-Man: Beyond the Spider-Verse will wall crawl into theaters on June 18, 2027.
