Nick Kroll just adores Harry Styles.

Harry Styles, the singer of “Watermelon Sugar,” actually helped the creator of Big Mouth plan his proposal to his wife, Lily Kwong. This happened while they were all working on the movie Don’t Worry Darling back in 2020.

Nick explained on the April 27th episode of the SmartLess podcast that he was planning to propose to his wife during the height of the Covid pandemic. He said they had just finished a table read and were all together when he started working out the details.

As for how the proposal went down?

Nick explained that after they moved into their new home, he asked his wife to help him with one last box. However, the proposal didn’t go exactly as planned. She responded by asking if he was seriously making her move it herself.

However, he added, “So she opened the box and there was a bunch of flowers and the ring.”

The One Direction member assisted the comedian with the proposal, but Nick shared that the kind young man went above and beyond that initial help.

Harry asked me how everything went. I explained that I’d already told my family, because he’d been checking up on me before I spoke to them.

Even though a Grammy-winning musician helped Nick propose, the couple decided not to invite him to their wedding. They explained that, as the comedian had previously stated, they wanted a very intimate ceremony – just the two of them.

Nick, who shares his two children, 5-year-old Leo and 2-year-old Gaia, with Lily, explained to the Today show in 2020 that while weddings can be lovely, they often come with a lot of stress and crowds. He felt that simplifying their wedding to just the two of them, an officiant, and a photographer made it even more beautiful.

And as he put it, “It couldn’t have been a more magical day.”
