Even though details about Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag Resynced were revealed early, the official announcement has been very well-received by most people.
The videos have quickly gained millions of views on YouTube, and the reaction on social media has been overwhelmingly positive.
Okay, so Ubisoft totally nailed the reveal of the remake, in my opinion. They didn’t just show off gameplay, they actually talked about what was wrong with the original, which I appreciated. And they had Matt Ryan, the actor who played Edward Kenway, do the whole presentation – he’s a really engaging guy, and it made the whole thing even better!
The announcement lost its impact due to earlier leaks, but the final result still impressed many. The updated visuals, or ‘Resynced’ look, are even more impressive than anticipated.
These days, remakes and remasters often get a lot of criticism, particularly from dedicated gamers. Many feel that revisiting older games isn’t very innovative and that publishers and developers too often choose easy, guaranteed successes instead of taking risks.
When it comes to Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, we’re talking about a much-loved game. Many players fondly remember when it came out in 2013, and for a lot of PlayStation fans, it was one of the first big games they bought for their new PS4.
A strong launch game can really make a lasting impression. When your first experience with a new console is great, it often shapes how you feel about that system for years to come, creating fond memories you’ll always cherish.
Black Flag was a perfect solution. Ubisoft needed a hit after Assassin’s Creed 3, which, while selling very well, had disappointed some longtime fans with its slow speed and deliberate story.
In contrast, Black Flag was designed to be thoroughly enjoyable – it was, at its heart, a thrilling pirate adventure filled with spectacular sea battles and the lure of lost riches.
I really enjoyed playing as Edward Kenway in Black Flag. After Connor in Assassin’s Creed 3, who felt… well, a little stiff, Kenway was a breath of fresh air. He was a total rogue, chasing fortune in the Caribbean, and honestly, he had a lot of Ezio’s charm. Most of us players really connected with that swagger, it made the game so much more fun!
Black Flag was more than just a visual upgrade. Ubisoft invested heavily in creating a remarkably realistic seafaring experience – they even sent out a press release boasting about the advanced technology used to simulate ocean waves!
Ultimately, Black Flag is still a very popular and memorable game in the series, so the news of its revival – and the apparent attention to detail – is generating a lot of excitement.
