Harlan Coben’s latest Netflix thriller, following the success of this year’s Run Away, has been announced, and the cast is starting to come together.
Get ready to binge-watch! Production has just begun on The Woods, the newest series from Harlan Coben that’s sure to be a hit. It’s based on his 2007 novel of the same name, and while there was a previous Polish adaptation called The Woods, this new series is a fresh take on the same story.
Originally released in 2020, this Polish series is gaining renewed attention with the recent announcement of its impressive cast, featuring a frequent collaborator with author Harlan Coben.
Michelle Keegan will return for another Harlan Coben thriller following the huge success of Fool Me Once. The series, which premiered in 2024, has already been viewed over 130 million times worldwide.

In the upcoming series, The Woods, Keegan will play Lucy Silverfield, joining Tom Bateman who stars as Paul ‘Cope’ Copeland. They’ll play former partners working together to solve the puzzling disappearance of Cope’s sister.
Twenty years ago, Paul Copeland’s sister, Camille, disappeared from a summer camp, deeply impacting his family. Now a successful lawyer and single father to a ten-year-old daughter named Cami, Paul seems to have moved on with his life.
When a man’s body is discovered – twenty years after he was believed to have been killed with Camille – Cope starts to believe his sister might still be alive. Driven to find out what really happened, Cope reconnects with his former love, Lucy Silverfield, and together they investigate, revealing decades of deceit, hidden truths, and family secrets that could shatter Cope’s life.
As a movie and TV fan, I’ve really enjoyed watching Toby Bateman over the years. You might recognize him from shows like “Da Vinci’s Demons” or from the big screen in films like “Murder on the Orient Express” and “Death on the Nile.” More recently, I’ve been catching his work in shows like Sky’s “Funny Woman” and Peacock’s “Based on a True Story” – he’s been consistently great!
I’ve been really impressed with Suranne Jones lately! Not only did she direct an episode of Fool Me Once with the wonderful Joanna Lumley, but she’s also been popping up in Brassic and Ten Pound Poms. And now, I’m excited to see her take the lead in the new ITV crime drama, The Blame – she’s a seriously versatile actress!

Mandeep Dhillon (known for MobLand), James Buckley (from The Inbetweeners), and Pearce Quigley (of Small Prophets) will join the main cast, playing the characters Loren Muse, Lonnie Berger, and Ira Silverfield, respectively.
Tracy-Ann Oberman, who previously appeared in Run Away, will be back for another Harlan Coben series, The Woods. Joining her are comedian Tom Allen, Rade Sherbedgia (known for Slow Horses), Shannon Watson (The Jetty), Pamela Nomvete (Andor), and Roger Barclay (Industry).
Joining the main cast of The Woods are Amelia Eve, known for her role in Bly Manor, Kerry Howard from Witless, Simon Lowe (Kirkmoore), Dean Fagan (Time), Charlotte Beaumont (Broadchurch), and Christopher Harper (Call the Midwife).
So, I’m really excited about The Woods! It’s based on one of Harlan Coben’s books, but Danny Brocklehurst – who’s done amazing work adapting Coben’s stuff before, like Stay Close, Fool Me Once, and The Stranger – is the lead writer. That’s a great sign! Coben himself said this story is really special to him – a bit more emotional, about old loves and regrets, but still packed with all the twists and turns we expect from his books. And the cast? Seriously impressive – Tom Bateman, Michelle Keegan, Mandeep Dhillon… it’s a fantastic lineup. I have a feeling this one’s going to be a good one.
Brocklehurst expressed his excitement about collaborating with Netflix again on a suspenseful and emotionally gripping thriller. He also praised the cast, saying it’s wonderful to work with Michelle Keegan once more and to have such talented actors like Tom Bateman, Pearce Quigley, Kerry Howard, and James Buckley on board. He feels very lucky to be working with such a strong team.
