Cartoon Network Star Creates The Perfect, Spooky Resident Evil Crossover

Many fans consider Resident Evil Requiem to be one of the best games in Capcom’s Resident Evil series. It features both a new character, Grace Ashcroft, and the return of a popular hero, Leon Kennedy. The game has sold over seven million copies globally and continues to generate news even weeks after its launch. Interestingly, the voice actors from the latest Resident Evil game have collaborated with the voice actor who famously brought Courage the Cowardly Dog to life, bringing a bit of “Nowhere” to Raccoon City.

The voice actors behind characters from Resident Evil and Cartoon Network’s Courage the Cowardly Dog recently teamed up for a funny video. Angela Sant’Albano, Emma Rose Creaner, and Delanie Nicole Gill – who voiced characters in Resident Evil – joined forces with Marty Grabstein, the voice of Courage. It’s a perfect pairing since both Grace (from Resident Evil) and Courage are known for being terrified of spooky things! Sant’Albano shared the video and also a fan-made animation showing Grace and Courage facing off against one of the scariest monsters from Resident Evil.

Resident Evil’s Animation History

While a Resident Evil cartoon on Cartoon Network never happened, the franchise has a history of animated projects. The most well-known are the direct-to-video CG movies, which featured popular characters facing both classic and new dangers. More recently, in 2021, Netflix released a CG-animated series called Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness, bringing Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield back into the spotlight.

A new live-action Resident Evil movie is coming to theaters later this year, building on the positive reception of Resident Evil Requiem. Directed by Zach Cregger – known for his work on Weapons and Barbarian – this film will explore the world of Resident Evil affected by the Umbrella Corporation, but with new characters. The movie is scheduled for release on September 18th and aims to be a successful adaptation, something many fans feel previous adaptations have lacked.

Despite its ending in 2002, there haven’t been any announcements about a revival of Courage the Cowardly Dog. Interestingly, the famously frightened canine actually returned in a crossover with Scooby-Doo in the movie Straight Outta Nowhere: Scooby-Doo! Meets Courage the Cowardly Dog. This unexpected reunion, happening years after the original series ended, showed that beloved characters can always make a comeback, even after a long absence.
