Khloe Kardashian is drawing a line in the sand.
As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen plenty of relationships play out publicly, and this one is definitely closed for good. Just two weeks after Lamar Odom admitted in his new Netflix doc that he married me for fame, let me be clear: a friendship is absolutely off the table. There’s no path forward there, and I’m completely at peace with that.
Khloe told her mom, Kris Jenner, on her podcast, Khloe in Wonder Land, that she’s completely cut ties with whoever she was talking about. She said there’s no chance of reconciliation and she’s done trying to fix things.
She also made it clear that this applied to her family, regardless of how understanding they might be.
“We’ve stopped speaking to him,” she told her mother, who was 41 years old. “I know how you sometimes are, and I just couldn’t deal with it anymore.”
But Kris, 70, was adamant that she had not crossed any boundaries.
“I haven’t called anyone,” she said to her daughter. “I would never do something like that without talking to you first and getting your opinion.”
Khloé, who was married to Lamar from 2009 to 2016, repeated firmly, “It’s not happening. There’s nothing going on.”
Khloe wasn’t happy with what Lamar Odom said in the documentary Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom. After the documentary came out, he also made public comments suggesting she overstated how much she helped him after his near-fatal overdose in 2015. (Khloe had initially filed for divorce in 2013, but paused the process to support him during his recovery.)

Khloé Kardashian’s Good American co-founder says Lamar Odom gave another interview after she publicly criticized him on her podcast on April 15th. In that interview, he reportedly reaffirmed his claim that he was with her to gain popularity and recognition.
She remembered Lamar saying, essentially, that his marriage had boosted his social media following. She added that it was obvious he didn’t genuinely care about her, and that her brother, Rob Kardashian, had shared the interview with her.
Khloe was upset that he risked damaging his relationship with her family. She told Kris that she believed he’d be heartbroken to lose their support, especially knowing how much he cared about what they thought of him.
Khloe, who also participated in the documentary, said he was manipulating her from the start. She explained it wasn’t just negative media coverage – he actively gave interviews for the documentary where he spoke badly about her. She felt betrayed, saying, ‘I agreed to be part of this, and now he’s just talking negatively about me? I wish he’d been upfront so I could have responded in kind.’
She then quickly clarified, “Although I wouldn’t.”

She remembered Lamar saying, in an interview her brother Rob Kardashian sent her, that his marriage had increased his social media following. She added that it was clear he didn’t really care about her.

Despite his recent comments, Lamar hasn’t contacted Khloe. However, a source told TopMob News on April 15th that he participated in interviews for the documentary only because he was contractually obligated to, and not because he wanted to discuss painful parts of his past.
According to a source close to him, he’s always been grateful for Khloé’s support during a really difficult time in his life. He’s often shared that she was there for him, helped him through it, and was a key part of his healing process.

Khloe and Lamar first met in 2009 at a party Khloe hosted. The party was thrown by Lamar’s Los Angeles Lakers teammate, Ron Artest, who later changed his name to Metta World Peace.
Khloe admitted in the Netflix documentary Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom that she didn’t know Lamar Odom before the party. She explained she likely took the job because her brother, Rob Kardashian, a huge Lakers fan, was really enthusiastic about it.
Lamar, recently crowned a champion with the Lakers, revealed in the documentary that he initially didn’t recognize Khloe. He confessed that he was attracted to her on their first night, but she made it clear she wasn’t interested in a casual encounter. They connected the following day, and their connection quickly continued after that.
Just weeks after meeting, he proposed with a nine-carat diamond ring. They married on September 27, 2009, only a month after their first encounter.
I’m usually pretty rational,” Khloe shared. “But I get why people were skeptical and questioning if our relationship was genuine. We were planning a wedding in just a month – it was a really fast timeline!”
As Lamar put it, “You gotta have a gut feeling” and “some big balls.”

Lamar and his former fiancée, Liza Morales, have two children together: a daughter named Destiny Odom and a son named Lamar “L.J.” Odom Jr. They were high school sweethearts in Queens, New York, but their relationship ended after the tragic loss of their 6-month-old son, Jayden, who died of SIDS on June 29, 2006.
In her memoir, Untold, Liza wrote that when Lamar texted her to say he was marrying Khloe, her first thought was that he must be kidding.
Lamar explained in his statement that people attempted to discourage him from getting married. He also said the mother of his children prevented their attendance at his wedding.
You know, as time went on, I actually started looking forward to the Christmas gifts I’d get from Khloe and her mom, Kris Jenner. But honestly, when they first started dating, it was a total surprise. I hadn’t even met Kris at that point, and my dad never even told me he was marrying her! It was a bit of a shock, to say the least.
Destiny, who is 27, explained in the document that if someone wants a large, public wedding with lots of cameras, that’s perfectly fine and their own choice.

The show Khloe & Lamar first aired on April 10, 2011, on TopMob. It felt like a logical extension of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which had already led to other spin-offs like Khloe & Kourtney Take Miami and Kourtney & Kim Take New York.
But that was not Khloe’s idea, according to the now 41-year-old.
According to the documentary, the show Khloe & Lamar was heavily influenced by Lamar. Khloe felt overwhelmed and worried that another show might harm the family’s existing brand, Keeping Up. She questioned whether a new show was a good idea, reminding him of his priority—his career with the Lakers.
Khloé explained that filming Keeping Up With The Kardashians let her move around and avoid constant public scrutiny. She was initially a bit worried about a new show being filmed in their home constantly, but she also wanted to support her partner, who was very enthusiastic about it.
Destiny said of her dad, “He did love Khloe, but he’d wanted to be on reality TV for a long time.”
As Lamar explained in the document, he agreed to participate fully, saying, ‘If I’m going to marry you, I want to be involved in everything as well.’

Liza remembered in the documentary that after the Lakers won their second consecutive NBA championship in 2010, her children skipped school to go to the victory parade in downtown Los Angeles.
When they arrived at his house, they received a call saying he wasn’t responding when they knocked, even though they knew he was home.
“We were knocking on the door and there was nothing,” Destiny said, “it was just silence.”
So, I heard through the grapevine that Lamar wasn’t feeling his best after a night out. A friend let Liza know he didn’t want his kids to see him that way, and initially, he was thinking of skipping the parade. But his trainer stepped in and insisted he fulfill his commitment, which was great because his kids were able to watch him participate on TV! It just goes to show, sometimes we need a little push to do what’s best, even when we’re not at 100%.
“They were just heartbroken,” Liza shared. Destiny explained that being rejected by a parent is incredibly painful and can really hinder a child’s growth. “There are some moments you just can’t shake,” she said. “It all makes sense now, knowing he was struggling with partying and substance use.”

Khloe admitted that, surprisingly, Lamar’s early cocaine use seemed handled responsibly, according to the documentary.
She remembered he went missing about two years after they started, sometime in June. She initially worried something terrible had happened to him.
Khloe explained that he’d been acting differently because June is the month of Jayden’s death anniversary. She said it made her realize she was dealing with something completely new and difficult, and she didn’t know how to handle it.
Lamar, who is now 46, explained in the documentary that he believes he’s forgotten many stories from that period of his life due to his circumstances at the time.
He wondered aloud how someone could even consider cheating on their wife, saying it showed a serious lack of character. He questioned how anyone could publicly commit to marriage on television and then be unfaithful.
Khloe remembered the night she found out Lamar was being unfaithful. She’d had her doubts, but this was the first concrete evidence. A woman called her and bluntly said, ‘I’m having an affair with your husband. He’s a mess, constantly asking for money and drugs, and I want out. Can you please come get him?’

Khloe remembered that Lamar would sometimes leave rehab – even if it was just for a day or two – and go on a drug-fueled spree. She often found herself desperately searching for him in rundown places like alleys and cheap motels. He’d leave drug paraphernalia – things like cut-up tin foil and spoons – scattered around wherever he went.
She explained she constantly had to tidy hotel rooms after him to prevent hotel staff from leaking information. She didn’t realize at the time she was helping him, but she felt obligated to cover for his behavior, keep everything under control, and shield him from the consequences.
Lamar’s drug use became extremely heavy after he was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in December 2011, according to her.

The following summer, Lamar returned to the L.A. Clippers, the team that originally drafted him back in 1999.
Following the end of the 2012-2013 season, he relapsed into drug use, and it became very serious, Khloe explained. He overdosed multiple times, and she privately helped save his life by pumping his stomach. They even set up makeshift detox facilities at home and tried everything they could to help him.

Khloe told Lamar he had a choice: get three months of rehab, or she would file for divorce. An intervention specialist advised her to deliver this ultimatum.
Khloe remembered people telling her he would never admit he wanted a divorce. During an intervention, after she spoke, he unexpectedly said he just wanted his passport and then agreed to move forward with the divorce immediately.
In the documentary, Lamar explained that right after he finalized his divorce in 2015, he felt motivated to work hard, but was frustrated because he didn’t have access to cocaine.
Living in Las Vegas at the time, he ended up at the Love Ranch, a legal brothel in Crystal, Nev.
Lamar observed that it’s amazing how a single choice, whether major or seemingly insignificant, can have a huge impact – not just on your own life, but on the lives of those you care about most.

On October 13, 2015, Lamar was discovered unconscious at the Love Ranch. According to the Nye County sheriff, witnesses reported he had used cocaine in the days leading up to the incident and had taken ten doses of a drug intended to improve sexual performance since arriving at the ranch.
Before the release of Untold, Lamar explained to Sports Illustrated that he didn’t use cocaine that night or day, and hadn’t yet established a source for it in Las Vegas, though tests later showed traces of the drug in his system.
In an interview with USA Today, he firmly stated he didn’t bring any cocaine to the brothel. He explained he was very upset after signing his divorce papers and had mistakenly thought he might indulge in drugs there, but that didn’t happen.

Khloe remembered screaming when her sister, Kim Kardashian, told her that Lamar had overdosed.
Oh my god, it was just heartbreaking hearing Khloe talk about it. When she rushed to the hospital to be with Lamar, his dad, Joe Odom – I still can’t believe he’s gone, rest in peace – he was already making the call to take Lamar off life support. Can you believe it?! Khloe was like, ‘Hold on, Joe, I’m still his wife, I need to understand what’s happening!’ And then she said Joe asked for… Nikes? And a hundred bucks? And a hotel room for the night?! It’s just… so messed up. And then he just left and never came back. I mean, how could he?! It’s just… devastating.
Khloe explained that she was determined to give him every possible advantage in the fight. She ultimately relied on her own judgment more than anyone else involved.
She restricted visits, requiring her approval for anyone who wanted to come over.

Lamar was transported from Las Vegas to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles, and Khloe stayed at the hospital constantly, as she shared in her series, Untold. She was by his side for approximately four months, visiting him every day.
After Lamar was released from the hospital in 2016, Khloe rented a house near hers for him and arranged for caregivers to look after him.
According to court documents, Khloe said she walked in one day and immediately smelled crack cocaine. She found him smoking in the bedroom and reacted by punching him in the face.
She explained that he’d gotten a phone and seemed to be doing surprisingly well, leading her to realize he was manipulating her so she would continue to support him. She told him he had until Monday to move out, stating she was finished financially supporting him and didn’t want any further contact.
When Lamar and Khloe reunited in late 2024 after nine years apart, he told her he didn’t recall the events of the past, but also acknowledged that didn’t mean they didn’t happen.
He used strong language to express his anger that someone offered him cocaine, especially considering his recent experiences.
“I can depend on my family,” he reflected, “but most people leave you to f–king rot in the wind.”
