MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls adds Hulk, Black Panther

Sony and Arc System Works have revealed that Hulk and Black Panther will be playable characters in the upcoming four-versus-four tag fighting game, MARVEL Tokon: Fighting Souls. They join Captain America and Iron Man as members of “The Fighting Avengers” team. A new Wakanda stage was also announced for the game.

Here are the latest details:

A New Team Joins the Battle: Fighting Avengers

The Avengers are getting a boost with the addition of Hulk, voiced by Fred Tatasciore, and Black Panther, voiced by Erica Luttrell. They join Captain America (Brian Bloom) and Iron Man (Josh Keaton) to create a new team called the Fighting Avengers.

Captain America leads a brand-new team of Avengers as they face a dangerous new threat to Earth. These heroes are admired by people everywhere, and we can’t wait for you to see how they handle this challenge in Episode Mode.

New Stage Revealed: Wakanda

We’re also excited to announce a brand-new stage: Wakanda.

Wakanda is an African nation known for its beautiful scenery and incredibly advanced technology. For generations, it has been protected by the Black Panther, and now young Princess Shuri has stepped into that role to lead and defend her country.

New Playable Character: Hulk

The Hulk is a massively strong, green hero who once battled with the Avengers to protect Earth. But in MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls, his incredible power and unpredictable nature become too dangerous. This forces S.H.I.E.L.D., and even allies like Captain America and Iron Man, to banish him to the remote Savage Land.

So, I’ve discovered Hulk’s been living off the grid, just chilling in the wilderness with a bunch of animals. It’s nice he found some peace, but honestly, he still doesn’t trust the Avengers. It’s kinda sad, really.

From the beginning of his creation, the story behind the Hulk – a powerful being transformed by gamma radiation – heavily influenced his appearance. To emphasize his wild, primal fighting style and incredible strength, the Hulk wears armor made from dinosaur bones.

Hulk is incredibly strong and can defeat enemies both up close and from a distance. He gets even more powerful by focusing his anger, which fills up a special meter called his Gamma Gauge. Once full, this triggers Gamma Rage, dramatically increasing his strength and speed.

Charge up the Gamma Gauge, then unleash powerful, single-hit attacks when the timing is right to inflict huge damage.

New Playable Character: Black Panther

Ruler of the great African nation of Wakanda, Shuri protects her country as the Black Panther.

She recently took on this new responsibility and is questioning if she’s prepared for it.

Okay, so things are getting crazy in Wakanda. I’m playing as Shuri, and it’s not just about kicking butt in battle anymore. I’ve gotta make some tough calls as queen, trying to figure out how to keep Wakanda’s traditions alive while also moving forward with new tech and ideas. It’s a lot of pressure, honestly!

We developed her character’s history right away when we added her to the team. Since Shuri had just become the Black Panther while also being Wakanda’s top scientist, her look was designed to show this significant change in her role.

The suit’s design highlights both Black Panther’s agility and fierce nature. It features streamlined, athletic shapes that suggest incredible speed, while also hinting at her royal status and the responsibilities of leading Wakanda through careful details.

Black Panther is a highly mobile fighter who uses the Spear of Bashenga to keep opponents at a distance. Her special ability, Bast’s Blessing, lets her quickly dash around the battlefield in multiple directions. While it uses a resource gauge, Bast’s Blessing can be interrupted from regular attacks and moves, giving her a lot of options for creating diverse and unpredictable combos.

Control fights from a medium distance using accurate spear strikes, and then quickly move in to finish off opponents with close-range attacks.

New Threat Revealed: The Champion

The latest trailer also introduced a new character: The Champion.

Champion is an incredibly ancient being, one of the Elders of the Universe, who has existed since the very beginning. He travels through space with his partner, Promoter, always seeking out strong fighters. Obsessed with close combat, he goes from planet to planet looking for worthy opponents to test his skills against.

Honestly, this guy is terrifying. If you don’t keep giving him what he wants – a good fight – he just wipes out your whole planet. It’s brutal, but that’s what makes him so scary!

And now, his next target has been chosen: Earth.

The “Challenge of the Champion” tournament has been announced, organized by the Promoter. Teams of four will compete in qualifying rounds for the chance to challenge the Champion. However, there’s a growing suspicion that this competition is more than just a game.

The Fighting Avengers are expected to be strong competitors in the upcoming tournament. We’ll share more information about Champion soon!
