The Irwin family may be adding a third Mirrorball trophy to their collection one day.
Terri Irwin, whose children Robert and Bindi both won their seasons of Dancing with the Stars, has considered potentially competing on the show herself.
The 61-year-old conservationist told TopMob News at the Steve Irwin Gala in Las Vegas that she would review the petition and respond within a week. She gave the update during an interview with her son on May 2nd.
She said she was thrilled to be considered for the opportunity, calling it incredible. She recalled Bindi describing the experience as the feeling of flight – liberating, joyful, and truly amazing.
The TV star was amazed by how skilled the professional dancers were as they guided their celebrity partners around the dance floor.
Terri described how performers often immediately pull audience members into a dance, spinning them around. She believes this interaction is an incredibly athletic and moving experience, making it a truly special moment.
Robert, the recent winner of Dancing with the Stars alongside Witney Carson, is determined to get his mom on the show next season. He confidently stated he’ll make it happen! He’d like to see his mom partnered with Val Chmerkovskiy, a professional dancer who has won the competition three times.
“Mum, I’d think you’d dance so well with Val,” he told Terri. “That would be really fun.”

Similar to Robert, Witney hopes Terri will eventually be on Dancing with the Stars. She believes Terri has the potential to be a great contestant and can already picture her doing well on the show.
Witney feels it’s important to feature Terri Irwin on the show, as she’s the last of the Irwin family. She believes Terri would be amazing and shared that Terri enthusiastically participated in a tribute performance, even suggesting dance moves like a ‘passé’ and a ‘flick’. Witney was delighted by Terri’s involvement and encouraged her. You can find out more about the Irwin family by reading on.

Just like Robert, Witney hopes Terri will eventually be on Dancing with the Stars. She believes Terri has the potential to be a great contestant and can already picture her doing well on the show.
Oh my gosh, she’s the LAST Irwin, you guys! We have to get Terri back on the show. Seriously, I just know she’d be amazing. She actually did a little bit in our tribute dance for Steve, and it was magical. She was throwing in all these little moves – a passé here, a flick there – and I was just yelling, ‘Yes, Terri! Go!’ She’s just so naturally gifted, and it meant so much to have her part of it. I’m obsessed with the Irwins, and she’s just… everything!

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always been fascinated by people who truly live their passions, and Steve Irwin was the ultimate example. He often said being the Crocodile Hunter wasn’t just a job, it was simply who he was – something he was born into! Growing up in Queensland, Australia, he practically had scales instead of skin, helping his herpetologist dad, Bob, and wildlife rehabilitator mom, Lyn, with expeditions and at their reptile park. He even worked with the government, capturing and relocating crocodiles to keep the public safe and help conservation efforts.
In 1991, Steve took the reins of the family park, and that’s where he met his future wife, Terri, an American visitor from Oregon. They married in 1992 and quickly began sharing their incredible life and conservation message with the world through The Crocodile Hunter docuseries. Together, they expanded the park into the amazing Australia Zoo we know today, and welcomed their children, Bindi and Robert, into their wild and wonderful family.
Sadly, Steve’s life was cut short on September 4, 2006, when he tragically died during filming in the Great Barrier Reef after being pierced by a stingray barb. He was only 44, but his legacy of conservation and adventure continues to inspire us all.
His impact continues to be felt through his work and, most importantly, his family. He once shared in a video from Australia Zoo that his children were his proudest achievement.

Like her husband Steve, Terri Irwin grew up loving animals, gaining experience at a vet hospital and wildlife rescue before they met. She believes their meeting was meant to be, telling Oprah Winfrey that they both weren’t afraid to take chances. She recalled Steve asking her to marry him and move to Australia to work with crocodiles, a bold move she happily accepted because of her strong feelings for him.
Following Steve’s passing, Terri continued to manage Australia Zoo, lead the Wildlife Warriors conservation organization, and champion wildlife protection. She also shared her memories in the 2007 book My Steve, became an Australian citizen in 2009, and starred in the show Crikey! It’s the Irwins with her children from 2018 to 2022.
In a 2025 interview with Us Weekly, Terri described her life as full and rewarding, expressing how much she misses Steve but also how grateful she is.

Bindi Irwin, born in July 1998, has been in the public eye since she was a child. She first appeared on TV alongside her father in The Crocodile Hunter and went on to star in Bindi: The Jungle Girl and Crikey! It’s the Irwins. In 2015, she won season 21 of Dancing With the Stars.
Like her parents, Bindi is dedicated to wildlife conservation. She’s also a published author, having written the children’s book You Are a Wildlife Warrior!: Saving Animals & the Planet, and openly shares her experiences as an advocate for those with endometriosis.
Bindi is now raising the next generation of Irwins with her husband, Chandler Powell, and their daughter, Grace Warrior Irwin Powell, born in 2021.
Keeping the memory of her father alive remains incredibly important to her. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she wrote, ‘To the world, you will forever be remembered as the greatest Wildlife Warrior. To me, you’ll always be the most incredible dad and now our family’s guiding light. I love you and I miss you every day.’

Born five years after his sister Bindi, Robert Irwin arrived in December 2003 and quickly followed in his family’s footsteps, using television to educate people about the natural world. He’s appeared on shows like Wild But True and Crikey! It’s the Irwins, and has also hosted I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!. Beyond television, Robert has worked as a model, won Dancing With the Stars, and pursues his passion for wildlife photography.
He remains actively involved with the Australia Zoo, continuing the conservation work his father, Steve Irwin, started. In a 2024 interview with BBC Radio 2, Robert shared his deep admiration for his father, saying, “He is my superhero. He always will be.” He explained that his father was a hero to many, and it’s an honor to carry on his legacy and ensure his work continues.

Bindi Irwin and Chandler Powell’s love story began much like her parents’, Steve and Terri Irwin’s. Chandler, a wakeboarder from Florida, met Bindi while visiting the Australia Zoo in 2013 during a competition. He was on a zoo tour led by Bindi, and they instantly connected. As Chandler recalled in a 2024 podcast, it felt like they were on the same wavelength from the moment they met. Because they were both teenagers, Chandler respectfully asked Bindi’s mom for permission to pursue a relationship. Bindi later shared that after their initial meeting, Chandler sent a letter asking if they could stay in touch. Years later, in 2020, they were married at the very place they first met: the Australia Zoo. Bindi described marrying her best friend as ’10/10 would recommend’ in a May 2025 Instagram post.

Grace was born in March 2021 and quickly picked up her family’s passion for animals. Her mom, Bindi, is being careful about when Grace will interact with crocodiles. Bindi told TODAY.com in February 2025 that she’ll consider letting Grace help feed them when she’s 18, but not before then. Bindi prioritizes Grace’s safety, making sure she’s only around animals she’s ready to meet. Right now, Grace’s world centers around koalas, tortoises, giraffes, and red pandas, which Bindi feels comfortable with.
Grace also knows all about her grandfather, Steve Irwin. Bindi told Us Weekly in May 2024 that she wants Grace to know her “Grandpa Crocodile,” and it’s wonderful to see her enjoy watching documentaries about him.
