Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo manga.
The sequel manga series, Jujutsu Kaisen Modulo, by Gege Akutami and Yuji Iwasaki, ended in March 2026. It began publication in September 2025 and was initially planned as a short story lasting about six months and three volumes. Despite becoming popular, the manga stayed on schedule and released its final volume on May 1st, 2026. The story concludes with both sides working towards a peaceful future, following a difficult period after Yakumaru fatally shot Cross. The fight between Dabura and Yuka doesn’t have a clear winner, as Maru intervened and sent Dabura to Simuria to save Yuka’s life.
The story concludes with an unresolved cliffhanger. Although it hints that Dabura came back to Earth for Kyoko, the series never shows them reuniting or confirms what happened. The last volume of the manga includes extra artwork, character details, and final thoughts from the creators, Akutami and Iwasaki.
Jujutsu Kaisen Creator Reveals He Is Proud to Have Created Modulo

Because the latest manga volume is currently only available in Japan, @lightningclare, a popular Jujutsu Kaisen fan account and translator of chapter 236, shared an English translation of the author’s afterword. In it, Akutami mentioned being worried about how fans might react to some of the choices made in the story.
He concluded by saying that everyone occasionally experiences unkind or cruel thoughts. He admitted he might one day be overcome by such feelings himself, and expressed pride in having created ‘Modulo’ as a reminder of who he is, before potentially losing his way.
Jujutsu Kaisen was Akutami’s first published manga series, and he quickly followed it up with a sequel just a year later. Though he’s happy with how Modulo turned out, he suggests this might be the last story he tells in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe, with no further sequels or spin-offs planned.
What’s Next For Jujutsu Kaisen?

The main part of the story concluded in September 2024, but the anime hasn’t finished adapting the Culling Game Arc yet. A fourth season is planned for release next year to continue this intense battle. After the Culling Game, the anime will move into the Final Arc, focusing on the sorcerers preparing to face the main villain. Plus, following a promotional video released by MAPPA celebrating the final volume of Modulo, a short anime series is very likely to happen.
Even though the anime is looking ahead, the Jujutsu Kaisen franchise is growing with a new novel by popular horror writer Yumeaki Hirayama. Akutami, the original creator, is overseeing the project, though details are still secret. With the main story finished and no promises of more sequels, Jujutsu Kaisen is still set to remain popular thanks to new releases and surprising projects designed to keep fans engaged for a long time.
