First published in 1968, Weekly Shonen Jump has become the best-selling manga magazine ever, thanks to hugely popular series like Dragon Ball, One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach. Even today, it remains a leader in the industry, publishing modern hits that define the Shonen genre, such as Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and My Hero Academia. Notably, 12 out of the 23 manga series that have sold over 100 million copies were originally featured in Weekly Shonen Jump. While many long-time fans cherish the classic Shonen era, modern Shonen is now at the forefront, reflecting how much the manga world has evolved.
New manga series these days tend to move quickly and have fewer chapters than the classic titles we all know. 2026 is shaping up to be a great year for the magazine, with lots of new releases, including a new action manga from the creator of Gintama. However, several series will also be ending or getting cancelled this year. One particularly popular series, Hima-Ten, is nearing its conclusion.
Hima-Ten Creator Confirms The Manga Is Heading Towards Its Conclusion

Manga creator Genki Ono recently announced that the series is entering its final arc, starting with Volume 9, which was released on May 1st, 2026. Because the English version of the volume isn’t available yet, @WSJ_manga, a trusted source for Shonen Jump news, shared Ono’s message with fans around the world. Ono encourages readers to continue following the story, promising a major challenge involving the manga’s heroines.
The manga started publishing in July 2024, and it’s unusual for a series to end so quickly, even for Weekly Shonen Jump. Although exact sales figures aren’t available, the weekly numbers shared by @WSJ_manga haven’t been impressive. It had a good beginning, but couldn’t maintain that initial popularity for very long.
What Is Hima-Ten About?

Tenichi Iemori is a sixteen-year-old high school student who juggles school with a part-time job cleaning houses to help his family and save for college. His life gets shaken up when Himari Yoshino, a successful model and company president, joins his class, causing a big stir at school. This romantic comedy follows what happens next.
Tenichi, as the class representative, is responsible for looking out for Himari, and he quickly grows to like her positive attitude. However, things get awkward when Himari doesn’t recognize Tenichi, who she’s hired to clean her surprisingly messy house, leaving her embarrassed.
