Netflix’s The Four Seasons is back with a trip to Italy and a baby along for the ride.
The first season of The Four Seasons ended on a dramatic note with Nick’s unexpected death. His girlfriend, Ginny, then revealed she’s pregnant. Nick’s former wife, Anne, along with Kate, Jack, Danny, and Claude, all pledged to support Ginny and help her navigate the future.
Netflix has released a trailer for the second season of The Four Seasons. Following a difficult loss, the group continues their tradition of taking four trips each year, one for every season. This season, Ginny and Nick bring their baby along as they travel to Italy, the Jersey shore, and upstate New York. You can watch the trailer below.
The cast of The Four Seasons is revisiting some of the vacation destinations from the first season, but this time they’re also heading to Italy – a new location for the show. Italy’s beautiful scenery and sights will offer a different experience compared to past trips, like the one to upstate New York, Ginny’s ill-fated tropical getaway, New Year’s Eve skiing, and the fall visit to a college campus.
The biggest shift will be dealing with Nick’s passing and the addition of his and Ginny’s new baby to the group. Even with time passing, they’ll still be mourning Nick, making it hard to enjoy new experiences without him. Plus, traveling – whether nearby or abroad – presents challenges for a pregnant person and a new baby. This will drastically alter the kind of vacations the group is used to, and will undoubtedly impact their relationships and friendships.
The second season will have eight episodes, each lasting about 30 minutes. Each episode will focus on a different vacation. Domingo and Fey, both stars of the show, will each direct an episode – Domingo will direct the first, and Fey the second. Robert Pulcini will direct the third, Tracey Wigfield the fourth, Shari Springer Berman episodes five and six, and Lang Fisher will direct the final two episodes.
Tina Fey and Robert Carlock created and run the series, also writing and overseeing production. Alan Alda is a producer, building on his work directing, writing, and starring in the 1981 film The Four Seasons, where he played Jack. He appeared as Anne’s father, Don, in the first season of the Netflix show, and it’s currently unknown if he’ll be back for season two.
The first season of The Four Seasons received mostly positive reviews, earning a ‘Certified Fresh’ rating of 78% on Rotten Tomatoes. It also proved popular with viewers, becoming the most-watched English-language show on the streaming platform for its first two weeks, attracting 24.4 million views. Due to this success, the show was quickly renewed – just two weeks after its May 1, 2025 release, a second season was announced on May 14.
The Four Seasons season 2 comes to Netflix on May 28.
