A 10/10 Animated Superhero Show Is Back With New Episodes on Netflix (& There’s a Live-Action Adaptation on the Way)

Only four months after announcing a live-action version, the popular animated superhero series has returned with new episodes now streaming on Netflix. Netflix has already released a lot of well-known titles this month, including films like The Breakfast Club and The Land Before Time, plus the new original series Lord of the Flies. Now, fans have even more to watch with the addition of 26 brand-new episodes of the hit animated show.

The fifth season of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir is now available on Netflix, with all 26 episodes released on May 1st. Fans are excited about both the new season and the upcoming live stage show planned for 2027. The series centers on Marinette and Adrien, two teenagers in Paris who secretly become the superheroes Ladybug and Cat Noir, defending their city from the villain Hawk Moth. Season 5 quickly gained popularity on Netflix, currently ranking as the 8th most popular show for kids in the U.S.

Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir Is a Modern Superhero Classic

It’s easy to think of Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir as just another superhero show for kids, but it’s much more than that. The show expertly combines romance, emotional storylines, and exciting action, keeping viewers of all ages engaged. It’s quickly becoming a modern superhero favorite. From the start, the show features a relatable main character in Marinette – she’s a bit clumsy, creative, and struggles with her confidence, which is a great contrast to her powerful superhero alter ego. Ladybug and Cat Noir are a fantastic duo, with skills that perfectly complement each other. Plus, if you enjoy rich backstory and detailed worlds, Miraculous delivers, constantly expanding its mythology with ancient magic, immortal beings, and historical connections.

First airing in 2015, Miraculous has become a hit with audiences, earning an 84% rating on Rotten Tomatoes over its six seasons – Season 5 even reached 87%! The show has grown into a large, popular franchise with spin-offs like web series, films, and video games. It’s continuing to expand with a new stage play created by Ella Louise Allaire and Martin Lord Ferguson, the team behind successful live shows like Ice Age Live! and Scooby-Doo! and The Lost City of Gold.

Other Kid-Friendly Titles Now on Netflix

Netflix isn’t just bringing back Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir this season! Along with the return of the popular animated series, the streaming service has also added several other family-friendly options, including Swapped, Jumanji, The Land Before Time, and Season 2 of Dr. Seuss’s Horton!.
