The Night Agent future confirmed by Netflix following season 3 – and there’s good news and bad news

Two months after The Night Agent was renewed for a fourth season, we have good news and bad news.

We’re currently filming the new season in Los Angeles, but unfortunately, this will be the last one.

Although viewers will miss Gabriel Basso as Peter Sutherland, they can be reassured that the show’s fourth season was planned as its last. This allowed the creators to craft a satisfying conclusion.

Following the success of The Night Agent, creator Shawn Ryan expressed his desire to create a satisfying and exciting ending for the series and the character of Peter Sutherland.

I’m incredibly thankful to Netflix and Sony Pictures Television for their support of ‘The Night Agent.’ They’ve allowed us to create a satisfying conclusion for our amazing fans around the world. We’re working hard to finish the story and make the final season truly unforgettable.

Deadline reports that Netflix decided to end the show because ratings declined during seasons two and three. Despite this, executives were happy with the creative quality of season three and believed enough fans would tune in for one last season.

Okay, so I’ve got the scoop on season four! Thankfully, we’re getting more of Basso, which is great news. But the cast is expanding with some really interesting additions. Titus Welliver is joining the fray as Duval, a special prosecutor from the DOJ, and Trevante Rhodes will play Dom, Peter’s new partner. We’ll also be meeting Dom’s wife, played by Li Jun Li, and Peter’s ex-fiancée, Zoe, who’s brought to life by Elizabeth Lail. It sounds like things are really heating up!

It’s still unclear if any other actors from the first three seasons will reprise their roles, but Albert Jones as Deputy Director Aiden Mosley and Fola Evans-Akingbola as Chelsea Arrington are strong possibilities for returning.

There’s a possibility Peter could reconnect with Rose Larkin, the actress Luciane Buchanan, who played his love interest in the first two seasons.

I was really bummed Rose wasn’t in season 3! But the creators, Buchanan and Ryan, have hinted she could come back if it makes sense for the story, which gives me a little hope. I’m keeping my fingers crossed!
