We were really pleased when Saber Interactive promised a year of updates for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, and we’ve been following their progress. Now, they’ve announced they’ll be supporting the game for a third year – which is fantastic news!
Space Marine 2 is proving to be a big success! It’s already been played by 12 million people – while that’s not the number of copies sold, it’s a strong indication of how popular it is. The developers have also just revealed their plans for the game’s second year, outlining what players can expect in future updates.
The game’s Siege Mode, where players team up to fight through waves of enemies, is getting a major update. This update will focus on making the experience more rewarding and offering more diverse gameplay.
The upcoming update will include a practice arena, letting you test out various weapons against opponents you can customize.
Saber shares that recent updates have been positively received by the community, and this encouragement is fueling their efforts for the year ahead.
Any features or content we didn’t get to in our updated plans for Year 2 will now be moved to Year 3. We don’t have specifics to share about Year 3 just yet, but rest assured, all of this content will still be available for free, as originally intended for Year 2.
The developer says more information on year three will be shared “very soon”.
Space Marine 2 was initially released on PlayStation 5 in September 2024. Since then, the game has been significantly improved with several large, free updates, and players have had the option to purchase additional downloadable content focused on cosmetic items for both the cooperative and competitive multiplayer modes.
