Wow, what a season finale for Daredevil: Born Again! It really stuck the landing, seeing Matt Murdock finally dismantle Fisk’s control over New York. But victory came at a serious cost – the city is bruised, and Matt’s now behind bars after revealing himself as Daredevil. One of the most touching moments for me was seeing a new Urich return to the New York Bulletin. It’s a really clever and heartfelt nod to Ben Urich, who Fisk tragically killed back in Season 1 of the original Daredevil. And eagle-eyed viewers will even spot a fun Easter egg connecting things back to Agents of SHIELD! Overall, a powerful and satisfying conclusion.
The Bulletin set is unique and instantly recognizable, with its walls covered in recreated newspaper headlines from the Daredevil series. These headlines were clearly made with care, as Marvel Television actually auctioned them off in 2020. They cover events like the Battle of New York and the Hulk’s destruction in Harlem, and surprisingly, even include a reference to Agents of SHIELD.
The finale of Born Again included a clever nod to the Agents of SHIELD series. A newspaper headline, “Cybertek Settles,” directly references a significant plotline from SHIELD. This headline originally appeared in SHIELD Season 2, Episode 9, and has now reappeared in Born Again, potentially confirming that both shows exist within the same Marvel continuity – the ‘sacred timeline’.

As a big Marvel fan, I always found the “Cybertrek Settles” headline in the first season of Daredevil fascinating. It’s the story that ultimately brings Deathlok into being. What struck me was that Marvel clearly chose to use that specific headline – they had tons of others they could have picked, so it felt like a deliberate nod to the comics and a really cool Easter egg.
Marvel Fans Are Convinced This Is Good News for Agents of SHIELD

While not a huge deal, Marvel fans are excited about a hidden reference to the Agents of SHIELD show. There’s been a lot of discussion about whether the older Marvel TV shows are officially part of the main story, but with Daredevil coming back, it looks like we might finally be recognizing all of those series as canon.
DDBA JUST OFFICIALLY CANONIZED AGENTS OF SHIELD AGAIN FUCK YEAH#daredevilbornagain

With Wonder Man making a connection to Agent Carter, which is already linked to Agents of SHIELD, it’s starting to feel like the show Agents of SHIELD is officially part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Plus, the same episode includes Luke Cage (played by Mike Colter), and Finn Jones is returning as Danny Rand in Daredevil: Born Again Season 2, so fans are now hoping to see Daisy Johnson, also known as Quake, make an appearance too.

It’s disappointing that Disney+ hasn’t officially included Agents of SHIELD and Agent Carter in the main Marvel Cinematic Universe timeline, and many fans are understandably frustrated. However, there’s still a possibility they might be added later, so there’s reason to remain optimistic.
While Agents of SHIELD faced some challenges, it initially connected very well with the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, later seasons took the show in a different direction. Season 6 created a timeline where the events of Avengers: Infinity War never occurred, and Season 7 delved into the Multiverse, using time travel to explore alternate realities.
Fans are now wondering if Agents of SHIELD might join the larger Marvel Cinematic Universe as part of the multiverse, instead of being considered part of the main timeline. With the current Multiverse Saga heading towards a big finish in this year’s Avengers: Doomsday and next year’s Avengers: Secret Wars – movies that seem to celebrate Marvel’s recent history – there’s a chance characters like Coulson and Quake, along with the rest of the SHIELD team, could return.
