This is Hayden Panettiere looking back on her relationship with ex Milo Ventimiglia.
The actress known for I Love You, Beth Cooper recently offered a peek into her two-year relationship with the star of This is Us. They dated while working together on the show Heroes before unexpectedly breaking up in 2009.
She told Us Weekly that the situation came as a complete surprise, especially because everything had been going smoothly. There hadn’t been any major problems or infidelity. She remembers her partner being genuinely shocked by how strongly she reacted, and he quickly apologized.
In her upcoming memoir, This is Me: A Reckoning, Hayden recalls the circumstances surrounding Milo’s request to reconcile. She explains that he only reached out because she was deeply upset, saying, “I was a mess, literally crying over the toilet—it felt like everything had fallen apart.”
Despite ultimately breaking up, actress Hayden Panettiere believed she and Milo Ventimiglia, whom she started dating when she was 18 and he was 29, could have had a lasting relationship.
Hayden, who shares 11-year-old daughter Kaya with her ex-partner Wladimir Klitschko, said she fully commits to every relationship. She hoped her relationship with Klitschko would continue to grow and eventually lead to marriage, viewing him as a long-term partner.
But Hayden’s head and heart were in different places.

Ugh, it was so frustrating! I just couldn’t bring myself to say ‘I love you’ – it felt… weird, and I didn’t even get why back then. I could only manage a casual ‘love you,’ you know? But he was older, much more perceptive, and he totally picked up on what that meant. It really said everything, honestly. It was like, he knew I wasn’t fully there yet, and it was heartbreaking… and fascinating, if I’m being real.
As someone who follows celebrity relationships closely, I was really struck by what Milo recently shared. He and his wife, Jarah Mariano, are parents to their adorable 14-month-old daughter, Ke’ala Coral, and he’s been reflecting on his past relationship with Hayden. He admitted he wouldn’t repeat that romance if he had the chance, which is a pretty honest thing to say!
He explained to MR PORTER in 2017 that life experiences mold a person’s character. He believes every job, friendship, and relationship – everything he’s gone through – has contributed to who he is today, teaching him valuable lessons and better ways to approach life. He noted it wasn’t until his late twenties that the cumulative effects of work and relationships really began to take a toll.
He continued, saying he wouldn’t change anything about his experiences. He believes that difficult times actually help you grow and see things differently.

The one where fans had no idea their favorite Friends couple actually had feelings for each other.
In the recent HBO Max reunion of the beloved show Friends, Jennifer Aniston and David Schwimmer revealed they both had crushes on each other when the first season was filmed.
As Schwimmer shared, he had a big crush on Jennifer Aniston during the first season of the show. Aniston playfully responded that the feeling was mutual.
So why didn’t Ross and Rachel’s real-life counterparts ever officially get together?
Schwimmer said that they both had strong feelings for each other at one point, but the timing never quite worked out. One of them was always seeing someone else, and they both respected those relationships, so they never became a couple. However, they both—
Okay, so Matt LeBlanc jumped in with a playful comment – he actually said ‘Bullst,’ but immediately followed it up with ‘I’m kidding!’ He was hinting that, you know, there might have been a little bit of on-set romance between some of the cast members. It was all lighthearted, of course, but definitely suggested there was something going on!
I once told David, ‘It would be really awkward if our first kiss happened on live TV,’ and it turned out that’s exactly where we kissed – in that coffee shop scene,’ Aniston shared.
Schwimmer and Aniston revealed they used to cuddle and even fall asleep together on the couch during breaks from rehearsals. Schwimmer recalled those early days fondly, saying they’d often snuggle up, and Aniston confirmed they would sometimes spoon.
Schwimmer finally confessed he wondered why everyone hadn’t realized they had crushes on each other.

In 2010, stars of The Big Bang Theory surprised fans by confirming they had been dating for two years. Kaley Cuoco only shared details about their relationship after they broke up.
Kaley Cuoco revealed in an interview with CBS Watch! magazine that her relationship with Jim Parsons was a significant part of her life, yet they kept it completely private. She described it as a great connection, but emphasized they never discussed it publicly or went out together as a couple.
Even after Johnny Galecki and Kaley Cuoco stopped dating in real life, their characters, Penny and Leonard, remained a couple on The Big Bang Theory until the show ended. They both agreed that acting as a couple wasn’t difficult, despite their personal breakup.
She explained that, given both professionals started working at a very young age and highly valued their privacy, they wanted to handle things carefully. She also suggested their strong desire for privacy might have unintentionally contributed to the end of their relationship.
Looking back, we were really careful with the show and with ourselves, almost overly protective. We didn’t want anything to mess that up, but honestly, it ended up being a bit sad. I realized I don’t want a relationship built on keeping things secret – I want to be open and honest about everything.

What you saw on screen with the Saved By the Bell characters’ love lives was just the tip of the iceberg. The real relationship drama happened behind the scenes.
Looking back, everyone on the show dated each other at some point – it was a very close-knit group! Mark-Paul Gosselaar told People magazine in 2009 that the girls sometimes teamed up against the guys. He remembers Tiffani and Elizabeth both being upset with him, and then getting mad at Lark for even speaking to him. Mario would get caught in the middle, expected to take sides, just like typical high school drama – ‘How could you talk to him?’
Though several cast members dated, Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Tiffani Thiessen had the longest relationship, being together for three years towards the end of the show’s run.

According to Ed Alonzo, who played Max on the show, actors Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Tiffani Thiessen, known for their roles as Zack and Kelly, definitely had a connection while filming the popular ’90s TV series. He shared this information with Entertainment Tonight.
“It was very cute,” Alonzo shared. “It was hand-holding and looking over.”
Let me tell you, I recently heard the sweetest story! Actress Christine Thiessen shared with People magazine that her very first taste of alcohol happened during a press trip to Paris with Mark-Paul Gosselaar. Can you imagine? Crepes in Paris and a first sip with him! She said it honestly felt like a real-life fairytale, like Barbie and Ken – or maybe even Zack and Kelly from Saved by the Bell! It’s just one of those adorable moments that makes you smile, isn’t it?

Zack Morris, the character from Saved By the Bell, revealed in a 2019 interview on Anna Faris’s Unqualified podcast that he had dated all three of the show’s female leads, including a short romance with Tiffani Thiessen’s character, Kelly Kapowski.
He described the atmosphere on set, saying, ‘It’s a unique environment, especially when you’re young. There aren’t many people around, and you end up working and living in a sort of bubble.’
No wonder Zack had to call so many time outs.

Although Mario Lopez and Elizabeth Berkley’s characters were a popular couple on Saved By the Bell, Lopez shared in his memoir, Just Between Us, that he actually dated Tiffani Thiessen.
He described how they started dating – going to the movies, eating out, and going to parties where they danced. Eventually, they became a couple. However, Lopez later confessed to being unfaithful, explaining that while he believed staying loyal to Tiffani was the right thing to do, he wasn’t mature enough at the time to actually do it.

How involved were the stars of Beverly Hills, 90210 when they dated off-screen? It really depends on who you talk to.
In a 2020 podcast interview, Tori Spelling discussed her experience working with Brian Austin Green on ‘Beverly Hills, 90210’. She explained that they had a connection both on and off camera, but that they each remember it differently. Spelling noted that they were both very young at the time, and likely viewed things through different lenses as a young woman and a young man.
She laughed, saying it was strange because she clearly remembered a summer romance where they both said ‘I love you.’ He, however, didn’t seem to recall it at all, claiming they just hung out and were friends. She found his recollection surprising, and just responded with, ‘Okay, cool,’ and still feels that way now.
During an appearance on the 2015 show Celebrity Lie Detector, Tori Spelling confessed she had always been in love with Brian Austin Green. She also revealed she once kissed Luke Perry and had a brief summer romance with Jason Priestley. Priestley responded to the news with a tweet saying he didn’t want to discuss it, adding that it was a private matter.

Before marrying Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, known for his role in Deadpool, shared a kiss with ’90s television star Melissa Joan Hart after appearing together in the 1996 TV movie, Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
In her 2013 memoir, actress Melissa Joan Hart shared a story about Burt Reynolds giving her a watch on the last day of filming a scene where his character, Seth, had a crush on hers. Afterwards, the two ended up kissing in her hotel room.
I couldn’t help but notice his lips – they were just amazing. And honestly, he was so broad and strong, with these huge hands and shoulders that made me feel so small in the best way. It was a little funny, though, because he definitely wore a lot of hairspray! It was a surprisingly good distraction, actually.

Kelly Clarkson revealed that she did date one of the original American Idol finalists, confirming long-standing rumors – but their relationship happened after the competition had ended.
Everyone assumed we were dating during American Idol, but we didn’t actually date then,” she said on Watch What Happens Live in 2015. She later revealed they did briefly date while filming their 2003 movie, From Justin to Kelly.
She explained that she believes anyone spending that much time with another person would likely end up dating. She pointed to the song ‘Timeless’ from the movie From Justin to Kelly as an example, saying that some connections are just unavoidable.

While filming Hannah Montana: The Movie in 2009, Cyrus quietly dated her on-screen love interest.
While promoting their Disney movie, Till revealed they had been dating for two months, telling a radio station in Atlanta that the relationship ‘definitely real’ would likely enhance the film.

After Vanessa Hudgens and Zac Efron broke up in 2010, she briefly dated her co-star from Journey 2: The Mysterious Island. However, the news of their relationship didn’t become public until after they had already split, and while they were promoting the film.
In 2012, while appearing on an Australian morning show together, the former couple was asked how long they had been dating.
There was this incredibly long pause, and everyone just looked around at each other, totally unsure what was happening. When Hutcherson finally spoke, it just made the whole situation even more uncomfortable, honestly. It was a really awkward moment!
He admitted they used to be together, but she had hurt his feelings. Then, quickly changing the subject with a laugh, he said he was just joking, which made Hudgens chuckle nervously.
