Brittany Mahomes Reveals “Pretty Bad” Wrist Injury

Brittany Mahomes isn’t letting an injury sideline her.

Okay, so I’m totally obsessed with Brittany Mahomes, obviously! And she just shared that she’s been dealing with a wrist injury for a whole year! Can you believe it? She’s a mom to four amazing kids – Sterling, who’s five, then Bronze, who’s three, and little Golden who’s only fifteen months old! And of course, her husband is the Patrick Mahomes! She’s such a supermom, dealing with all that and an injury! I just feel so bad for her, but she’s still crushing it as always.

She shared on Instagram on May 5th that she’s been dealing with De Quervain tenosynovitis, posting a screenshot of the condition’s symptoms. She explained she’s been fighting it for about a year, hoping it would improve on its own, but it’s actually gotten worse.

Also called ‘mother’s wrist,’ this painful injury happens when the tendons on the thumb side of your wrist get inflamed. The Mayo Clinic says it’s often caused by repeating the same motions, like lifting, gripping, or twisting.

Brittany also shared a picture of her arm in a brace, saying, “I get to wear this cool thing.”

Despite a minor hiccup, she didn’t let it interrupt her fitness routine, and a subsequent post showed her lifting weights at the gym.

The team owner’s wrist isn’t her only recent health concern. She’s also been recovering for the past two years from a broken back, which was caused by pelvic floor problems.

Just a friendly reminder: If you have children, please prioritize your pelvic floor health. It’s incredibly important,” she shared on social media. She added, “This message comes from someone who has experienced a fractured back.

Fortunately, she received good news in January when her fitness coach, Kristy Rae, shared a video of Brittany weightlifting.

Kristy shared on Instagram that a year and a half ago, recovering from a broken back was incredibly painful and restricted her movement. Now, nearly a year after giving birth, she’s steadily getting stronger each week, proving that the body can achieve amazing things with patience and focused effort.

Now that you know what’s been happening with Brittany’s health, let’s take a look at other famous people who have faced similar challenges.

Former Total Bellas star Nikki Bella shared that one of her breast implants moved after being hit during an elbow strike from wrestler Piper Niven in a match back in July 2025.

She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, saying they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she finished her current commitment, she’d return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, because she planned to use it again and it couldn’t look the way it did.

Lupita Nyong’o, known for her role in 12 Years a Slave, received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the year she won an Academy Award for her performance in the film.

She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with the condition for over ten years.

Honestly, growing up, it felt like everyone just expected periods to hurt. Like, pain was just…part of being a girl! It was so frustrating because it felt like I was dealing with all this alone, and it’s something almost every woman goes through. It’s like we’re all just supposed to suffer in silence, and it’s not okay!

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she had been wearing pants that were too tight, causing a gap in her abdominal muscles.

Someone messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter) saying, “You haven’t tweeted in a while!” Suki replied with a surprising explanation: she injured herself six months ago by wearing very tight pants, resulting in a hernia, and she’s been hesitant to share it.

As a health and wellness advocate, I’m sending good vibes to Brian Austin Green! He shared in April of this year that he’d recently undergone surgery – it turns out his appendix was dangerously close to rupturing. Thankfully, he’s on the mend now, and I’m so glad he’s prioritizing his health.

Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain which led him to the emergency room. He explained he had a perforated appendix – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to it.

He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

During a soccer game against the Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle, a midfielder for Racing Louisville collapsed after only a few minutes of play.

According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player was seen slowly sitting down on the field with a teammate supporting her, just before she collapsed. Trainers were immediately called to assess her condition.

After receiving initial medical attention on the field, Savannah was taken to a nearby hospital for more tests. League officials reported she is currently in stable condition and responsive.

Adam Devine revealed that he still feels the effects of injuries he suffered as a child when he was hit by a cement truck at age 11.

“It’s been a terrible experience,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I’ve been having spasms all over my body, and doctors recently told me I was close to death—within the last year, actually.”

He explained that his pain is intermittent, saying his body has some minor imperfections and isn’t quite functioning as it should.

A former contestant on The Bachelor went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He said he was in so much pain he had to crawl to get help, and the pain worsened during a road trip with a friend.

I was really shocked listening to his podcast back in March 2025. He was describing how his knees still felt tingly, which is so strange! He put it in perspective by saying that just a few weeks before, he was squatting almost 300 pounds. But now? He can barely stand on one foot, let alone do a squat – he actually said it feels like he’s had a stroke! It’s seriously concerning to hear how quickly things changed for him.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Gina Kirschenheiter, from The Real Housewives of Orange County, revealed that her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack in March 2025, but he is recovering well.

In March 2025, the actor from 30 Rock experienced a medical issue at a New York Knicks game and had to be helped out of Madison Square Garden.

The comedian later posted on social media to explain that he hadn’t been feeling well due to food poisoning, but was now recovering.

In February 2025, the former Even Stevens star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday outing with her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a trip to go clay pigeon shooting when the incident occurred.

In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone at a party who fired a weapon unsafely. Brendan Rooney quickly helped her, evaluated her injuries, and drove her to the hospital. She was hit five times, and one bullet narrowly missed her right eye, coming within an inch of a direct hit.

The former Kim Possible star shared that a small piece of something is stuck behind their eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, but they’re keeping a close watch on the situation. Thankfully, their vision is currently normal.

The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving a frightening experience. She shared her deep love for her daughters, husband, family, and friends, saying she realized how precious life is. “Seeing everything pass before me really made me understand that you should cherish every moment and hug the people you care about,” she explained. “Things can change so quickly.”

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its downsides, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier,” she faced criticism online. Surprisingly, doctors began commenting, expressing concern that she might have Cushing syndrome, a condition potentially caused by high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted Amy to realize she’d received steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. She later learned she had a form of Cushing syndrome that would resolve on its own, and she’s relieved to be healthy. She shared this positive news in a February 2024 newsletter, expressing how grateful she was to learn she was okay.

During a game in December 2024, an AHL player suffered a skate cut that required 25 stitches. After his son fully recovered, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald told ESPN they were very fortunate, saying, “I wouldn’t wish that on any parent.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, initially unable to speak or respond when Justin noticed something was wrong. She described her face drooping on one side, making it difficult to form sentences.

Although the symptoms eventually subsided, Hailey went to the hospital where tests revealed she’d had a small blood clot in her brain, diagnosed as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack).

Further investigation at UCLA discovered she had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). Doctors determined the blood clot had traveled through this hole and to her brain, causing the TIA.

Hailey successfully underwent a procedure to close the PFO and is now doing well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, a condition that caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.

In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared it was becoming increasingly difficult for him to eat.

Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey later told viewers of Good Morning America that Justin was recovering well, adding that while the situation had been frightening and unexpected, he was going to be okay and she was thankful he was on the mend.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had previously kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, he explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next 20 days.

Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. There, they discovered he had a brain bleed that caused a stroke.

After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then went to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed deep gratitude for the prayers he received, saying he needed them all.

The reality TV star shared that she briefly stopped breathing while running in the first challenge of the NBC competition show, describing the experience as feeling like ‘dying’.

She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, everything went dark, but then she saw light, leading her to realize she had died that day.

She explained that her organs were failing and she hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially starts to shut down.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always amazed by stories of resilience, and Emilia Clarke’s is truly inspiring. Many of you know her from Game of Thrones, but she recently shared a deeply personal story about a battle she fought off-screen. Back in 2019, she wrote about a terrifying health crisis that began with a severe headache while at the gym. It quickly escalated, and she realized something was seriously wrong – she actually knew her brain was damaged.

It turned out she’d suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She had immediate surgery, but recovery wasn’t easy. She experienced aphasia, struggling to speak, and was left in immense pain. After a month in the hospital, she was discharged, but her ordeal wasn’t over.

A routine scan in 2013 revealed the aneurysm had grown, requiring a second, even more complex surgery. This time, doctors had to access her brain directly through her skull. It was a frightening experience, and the initial surgery failed, leading to another massive bleed. Thankfully, she pulled through! Emilia is now thankfully at 100%, and sharing her story to raise awareness. It’s a powerful reminder to prioritize your health and listen to your body.

Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, is thankful for the support of her family. In January 2024, she experienced a severe stroke and her loved ones immediately came to her aid. As she told TopMob News’ Will Marfuggi in December 2024, “Everybody just came to my rescue.”

Cori’s hospital stay ended up being longer than expected due to other health issues. While she could have gone home after the stroke, she was also dealing with lupus and kidney problems.

Today, Cori is recovering well. “I’m doing great,” she shared. “I just had a little bit of motor skills that I had to work back on. But other than that, I was fine.”

Shailene Woodley struggled with serious health issues throughout her 20s. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she explained that she experienced hearing loss, extreme fatigue, and digestive problems. Doctors offered various diagnoses, leaving her feeling confused and unwell.

Determined to find answers, Woodley combined traditional medical care with holistic and herbal remedies. This search for well-being lasted for a decade. She noted that the physical discomfort led to anxiety around food and eventually contributed to body image issues and a struggle with her identity.

Fortunately, after years of addressing both her physical and mental health, Woodley is now feeling much better and considers herself very healthy. She expressed relief and happiness to have resolved the issues and regained her well-being.
