Everything We Already Know About Daredevil: Born Again Season 3

The second season of Daredevil: Born Again has concluded with a dramatic finale. Matt Murdock managed to remove Wilson Fisk, also known as Kingpin, from his position as mayor and force him to leave New York City. However, during Karen Page’s trial, Matt was forced to publicly reveal his identity as Daredevil in order to testify against Fisk, which led to his own arrest for acting as a vigilante. Elsewhere, Jessica Jones and Luke Cage teamed up again, and Jessica agreed, though not enthusiastically, to return to her work as a private investigator at Alias Investigations.

Everyone following the Marvel Cinematic Universe is asking: what’s next for Daredevil: Born Again Season 3? Usually, this is where we’d share predictions and fan theories. But Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 has been filming while Season 2 was available on Disney+, and photos, videos, and cast posts have already revealed a lot about what actually happens.

If you’re curious about what happens in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3, keep reading! But be warned: the information below contains major spoilers.

How Born Again’s Ending Sets Up Season 3

The second season of Daredevil: Born Again reached a climax as the conflict between Matt Murdock (Daredevil, played by Charlie Cox) and Wilson Fisk (Kingpin, played by Vincent D’Onofrio) escalated, spreading chaos throughout New York City. A crowd of Daredevil’s supporters clashed with Kingpin’s security force at the courthouse where he had taken refuge. Ultimately, Daredevil exposed his identity as Matt Murdock and persuaded Kingpin to stop the violence by agreeing to a deal: he would relinquish his power and leave the city.

Wow, Season 2 left us with a lot to unpack! Foggy and I were reeling as Matt ended up behind bars with all the criminals he put away. It was almost comical seeing Fisk trying to chill on a beach – clearly that wasn’t going to last. But the biggest twist? Seeing Luke Cage get sidelined and Dex Poindexter, aka Bullseye, step up as Valentina and that mysterious Mr. Charles’ new weapon for overseas missions. It was a total power shift! On a brighter note, it was really heartwarming to see Luke and Jessica finally work things out and reconnect with their daughter. A bit of good amidst all the chaos, you know?

It’s clear that the third season of Daredevil: Born Again will focus on how Matt Murdock navigates life as a fugitive. While a prison escape is possible, it’s more probable that the season will center around a storyline where Matt Murdock is put on trial.

(SPOILERS FOR DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN SEASON 3 FOLLOW!)

Kingpin is Back

If you were hoping the upcoming season of Daredevil: Born Again would leave Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin (played by Vincent D’Onofrio), behind, you’re likely to be disappointed. Even though he’s no longer mayor of New York City, Kingpin isn’t someone who simply fades away.

From what we’ve seen in trailers and photos, Wilson Fisk, a.k.a. Kingpin, will return in Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 looking unrecognizable with a disguise – a winter hat, trench coat, and a full white beard. Even though his reputation is damaged, Fisk historically built his power operating secretly. It appears he’ll focus on regaining control and getting revenge on Matt Murdock, possibly by sabotaging his legal cases.

The Defenders Reunite

Everyone knows that the heroes from the old Netflix series The Defenders are coming back together in Season 3 of Daredevil: Born Again. Krysten Ritter has already reprised her role as Jessica Jones, and Mike Colter unexpectedly returned as Luke Cage in the Season 2 finale. Colter also revealed that Finn Jones will be back as Iron Fist. This means the entire Defenders team will now be part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The big mystery now is what their next adventure will be.

Matt Murdock will require help from others to safeguard the city and prove his innocence. The Defenders seem like the perfect group for this, and it’s possible we’ll finally see them evolve into the ‘Heroes for Hire’ team that Marvel-Netflix fans have wanted for years.

A New Muse Emerges

The season finale of Born Again confirmed what viewers had begun to suspect: Dr. Heather Glenn (Margarita Levieva) fully embraced her dark side and became Muse, the serial killer who previously attempted to murder her.

The transformation of Heather Glenn into Muse II, also known as “Lady Muse,” mirrors a storyline from Marvel comics where the spirit of the original Muse guided a troubled artist named Morgan Whittier after her death. However, the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) version takes a different approach: Dr. Glenn perceived the first Muse as a disturbing hallucination throughout Season 2, and gradually began to share the killer’s perspective.
