Although there’s no news on when Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part 3 will be released, more information about the game is surfacing. In a recent interview with Ntower (translated by WCCFTech), the game’s director, Naoki Hamaguchi, discussed what he enjoys most about the sequel. When asked about his favorite characters after playing the game over 40 times, he chose Vincent and Cid, praising their engaging gameplay, despite acknowledging Yuffie’s well-rounded abilities.
Yuffie was originally created to be the main character in her own downloadable content, giving her a well-rounded skillset with both ranged and melee attacks, as well as both physical and magical strengths. This makes her a really flexible character to play. I personally always include her in my battle parties. However, Vincent and Cid also ended up with some fantastic combat abilities in the final game, and I’m excited for players to experience them firsthand.
This is great news for players! Vincent’s powerful magic and special transformations can be incredibly strong if used well, and Cid excels at controlling battles, especially at the beginning. The developer also revealed that Sephiroth’s ultimate attack, Supernova, and the powerful Knights of the Round summon will both be included in the game.
The game seems to be progressing well, and although there hasn’t been an official announcement yet, development is moving forward consistently. The sequel will be released on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2, which is a change from the first game. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
