The second season of Daredevil: Born Again concluded with a massive conflict engulfing New York City, pitting Matt Murdock/Daredevil (Charlie Cox) against Wilson Fisk/Kingpin (Vincent D’Onofrio). Ultimately, both characters faced significant losses and made tough sacrifices for the city’s sake. Kingpin was forced into exile, leaving New York behind, while Daredevil, whose secret identity was revealed, landed in jail for his actions as a vigilante.
Wow, the season finale of that show – Season 2, Episode 8, ‘The Southern Cross’ – really stuck the landing! As a huge MCU fan, I’m seeing everyone online agree it’s one of the best finales they’ve ever done, and the ratings are definitely backing that up – it’s breaking records, apparently!
Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Finale Sets A New IMDb Ratings Record

As of today, the final episode of Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 has a 9.6 out of 10 rating on IMDb, making it the highest-rated single episode of any Marvel series on Disney+. “The Southern Cross” surpassed the previous record held by the Loki Season 2 finale, “Glorious Purpose,” which aired on November 9, 2023, and currently has a 9.5 rating. Another episode of Daredevil: Born Again, Season 2 Episode 4, “Gloves Off,” also ranks high, securing the third spot with a score of 9.4.
Despite recent reports of lower viewership between the first and second seasons of Daredevil: Born Again, the show is receiving very high ratings on IMDb. This positive feedback is especially important for Marvel Studios and Disney+ because it suggests the show’s quality has improved. It remains to be seen if these improved ratings will translate into more viewers now that the full season is available to stream on Disney+, allowing audiences to watch it all at once. It will be crucial to watch if the buzz around the show increases.
Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 Is On The Way – And Looks Even More Hype

Production on Daredevil: Born Again Season 3 started as soon as Season 2 began streaming on Disney+ on March 24th. The new season will find Matt Murdock in jail, and Wilson Fisk wandering as he searches for a new direction after losing his power as both Mayor of New York City and the Kingpin. While Daredevil is behind bars, his former allies from the Defenders – Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter), Luke Cage (Mike Colter, with a cameo in Season 2), and Iron Fist (Finn Jones) – will work to protect the city.
I’m so excited that all the episodes of Daredevil: Born Again are now available to stream on Disney+! And believe it or not, they’re already planning Season 3, with a possible release date in March 2027. If you’re as obsessed as I am with the show, especially how Season 2 ended, come share your thoughts with other fans on the ComicBook Forum!
