The fourteenth season of “King of the Hill,” which has been absent from Arlen, Texas for a while, is almost here on Hulu, with all ten episodes dropping simultaneously. Fans of Hank Hill should be prepared to watch the episodes back-to-back before spoilers start circulating online. As we eagerly await the show’s return, there have been suggestions that Dale Gribble may have ventured into politics, and the revival’s premiere seems to confirm this. At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the creators of the series hinted that Dale’s political career could reach impressive heights.
heads up: if you’d prefer not to learn about the surprises in store for King of the Hill’s fourteenth season, it might be wise to stop reading now. At this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, the makers of King of the Hill shared numerous revelations about the revival. One major reveal concerns Dale: while Hank and Peggy were away in Saudi Arabia, Gribble ran for mayor and surprisingly won! The creators didn’t share much about Dale’s time as mayor, but it’s safe to assume that becoming Arlen’s mayor is an event that Hank probably didn’t experience when he left town.
Dale Changes
Sadly, the actor who initially gave life to Dale, Johnny Hardwick, passed away before reprising his role in King of the Hill’s fourteenth season. Instead, Toby Huss, who played Cotton, Dale’s father, stepped into the role. At Comic-Con 2025, Huss expressed his feelings about replacing Hardwick, saying, “I won’t try to surpass what Johnny achieved, but I hope he appreciates my efforts.
In one of the upcoming episodes of the revival of “King of the Hill,” we find Dale Gribble clashing with Hank Hill over an amusingly strange cause. It turns out that Hank takes up coaching soccer, a fact that leaves Dale’s mind boggled. Instead of approaching the mystery casually, Dale appears to abduct and bind Hank, suspecting that his friend might have been swapped for a covert agent. Despite the passage of time during which Peggy and Hank were away, it seems Dale has remained as unyielding as ever.
The upcoming season of “King of the Hill” will debut on Hulu on August 4th, with all ten episodes becoming available simultaneously. Similarly, the new season of “Futurama” will also release all its episodes at once on the same day. Historically, Hulu has chosen to release many of its TV shows on a weekly basis; however, it appears that some popular animated series are opting for a different strategy now.
