The anime series My Hero Academia concluded in December 2025, nine years after it first aired. The finale wrapped up the story a little over a year after the manga ended, featuring an epilogue focused on the aftermath of the Final War. The heroes are left with lasting wounds and the task of rebuilding the country after the widespread devastation. Despite the main story’s conclusion, the My Hero Academia franchise continues with new spin-offs and video games. As part of its 10th-anniversary celebration, a new episode will premiere on Crunchyroll on May 2nd, 2026, offering a true finale to the series. A recent teaser showed fans a glimpse of the U.A. students as grown-up, professional heroes.
What’s Next For My Hero Academia?
The anime series now has a website dedicated to sharing news about celebrations and future plans. Fans are especially excited about a special episode that will continue the story. This episode, titled “More,” will be based on chapter 431, which was originally released only in the final volume of the manga.
The last book in the series came out in Japan in December 2024, and in English in October 2025. It concludes the story with a new chapter that takes place eight years later, following students from Class 1-A, U.A.’s Big Three, and professional heroes. The chapter mainly focuses on Ochako Uraraka and shows a gathering of Japan’s top heroes, also revealing their official rankings.
This extra chapter takes place after the main story concludes, showing the students of U.A. High School as fully-fledged pro heroes. It wasn’t originally published in the manga and was intended as a short look into the future to thank fans. A teaser revealing the characters as adults was released on April 29th, 2026. The episode will be a standard length and will first air on Japanese television before becoming available on Crunchyroll.
