I’m so excited for the next season of The White Lotus! They’ve just announced some amazing new cast members, and I can’t believe Sir Ben Kingsley is joining us. It’s going to be incredible!

This series follows a different lavish hotel each season, showcasing the messy lives, hidden secrets, and complicated relationships of its guests. Someone usually doesn’t make it out alive.

After being filmed in Hawaii, Italy, and Thailand, the show is heading to the French Riviera. The new season will focus on the drama surrounding two movie projects and their teams as they compete at the famous Cannes Film Festival, according to Variety.

Sir Kingsley is joining the show in a role that hasn’t been revealed yet. He recently appeared in the Netflix film The Thursday Murder Club and the Marvel series Wonder Man, and is also famous for his leading roles in classics like Gandhi and Schindler’s List, as well as the film Sexy Beast.

Plus, Max Minghella, known for his work in “The Handmaid’s Tale” and “Industry,” and Finnish actor Pekka Strang, who starred in “The Last Kingdom: Seven Kings Must Die,” are joining the cast. Details about their characters are currently being kept secret.

Recent news has been dominated by casting updates for The White Lotus, especially after Helena Bonham Carter unexpectedly left the production just days after filming began. She was one of the first and most well-known actors confirmed for the season, making her departure particularly surprising.

Okay, so the part originally written for this actress has gone through some major changes, and honestly, it’s all to better fit Laura Dern. She and Mike White, the guy behind The White Lotus, work together a lot, so it makes sense they’d tailor the role – a washed-up star trying to make a comeback at Cannes – specifically for her. It’s a smart move, and I’m already curious to see what Dern brings to it.

Steve Coogan, who worked with Helena Bonham Carter on Season 4, spoke about her leaving the show at the BAFTA TV Awards 2026. He said the decision for her to depart was made jointly by both parties.

The new season of White Lotus will feature both established stars and up-and-coming actors, some of whom are likely to become household names after the show airs.

The cast includes well-known actors like Vincent Cassel, known for The Three Musketeers; Chris Messina from Birds of Prey; Sandra Bernhard, who appeared in Marty Supreme; Max Greenfield of New Girl; Kumail Nanjiani, a contestant on Taskmaster; and Chloe Bennet from Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD.

I’m really hoping this season will be a fresh start! It’s interesting that they haven’t brought back any characters from previous seasons yet. It makes me think they’re finally moving away from that whole complicated Tanya, Greg, and Belinda storyline that went on for so long. It feels like they’re building something completely new, and honestly, I’m excited about that!
