The Lord of the Rings: Rings of Power season 3 release date finally confirmed as first look revealed

Amazon has announced the release date for season 3 of The Rings of Power and shared a sneak peek at what’s to come.

As a huge fan of the Lord of the Rings prequel series – you know, the one that started on Prime Video back in 2022 and had a second season in 2024 – I’m thrilled to hear that the third season is officially coming out on November 11th, 2026! I’ve been eagerly awaiting it.

Amazon revealed the news at its yearly Upfront event on Monday, May 11th. They also shared a first-look image from the new season, featuring Sauron (played by Charlie Vickers) lurking in the shadows.

According to Peter Friedlander, head of global television at Amazon MGM Studios, this series has consistently delivered the grand scope, bold vision, and high-quality production that are hallmarks of Prime Video’s most successful shows worldwide.

Wow, the reaction to the show has been incredible! It’s amazing to see so many fans still loving this world and getting excited for Season Three. It really feels like the passion is building, and it’s so cool to be a part of it all.

The third season will be set several years after the events of season two, during the height of the war between Sauron and the elves, as the One Ring is being made.

Morfydd Clark as Galadriel and Robert Aramayo as Elrond will be back for season 3, joining new cast member Guy Vickers.

The next installment will also feature new cast members Jamie Campbell Bower (known from Stranger Things), Eddie Marsan (Sherlock Holmes), Andrew Richardson (Ponies), Zubin Varla (Andor), and Adam Young (Sex Education), though their specific roles haven’t been announced yet.
