The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) has made many lesser-known Marvel heroes incredibly popular. While Iron Man was already well-known in the comics, the MCU turned him into a mainstream star. Even characters who were already famous, like Spider-Man and Hulk, have reached new heights of popularity thanks to the films. Fans are especially excited about what’s coming next, particularly the upcoming team-up between Spider-Man and Hulk in Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
I absolutely love seeing my favorite heroes join forces, and there’s something special about Spider-Man team-ups! Everyone went wild when Spider-Man shared the screen with the Hulk, and I was completely blown away when Daredevil appeared in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Those three are just incredibly popular, and imagining them all fighting together would be a dream come true – a movie like that would instantly sell out! While it seems unlikely we’ll see that in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, I’m thrilled that Marvel is giving us a new comic book, Spider-Man/Hulk: Fire & Brimstone, where they are teaming up! It’s the next best thing, and I can’t wait to read it.
Triple the Heroes, Triple the Action

Fan-favorite writers Kevin Smith and Andy McElfresh team up with artist R.B. Silva for a new adventure featuring Spider-Man, Hulk, and Daredevil! Their story begins on Easter Sunday when Spider-Man tries to protect a Central Park Easter celebration from a group of villains—all with “Man” in their names. He soon encounters the Hulk, who is desperate to finally cure himself of his transformations. Banner believes the Hulk is a demon and needs the help of Spider-Man and Daredevil to perform an exorcism and rid himself of the Jade Giant forever.
This five-part comic series centers on Spider-Man and the Hulk working together on Bruce Banner’s risky plan to exorcise a demon. Expect plenty of classic villains and witty banter along the way. While Daredevil isn’t a main character, the comic’s focus on religious themes suggests he’ll likely appear. The combination of Daredevil’s seriousness with the Hulk’s anger and Spider-Man’s humor promises a compelling dynamic. All three characters share a deeply troubled core, and it will be interesting to see how they interact and influence each other.
I’ve worked with Spider-Man before, but this project is different – it involves dealing with the Hulk! As Smith explained, he and Andy are taking two famous Marvel scientists and placing them in a deeply spiritual story inspired by the Bible, where they’ll attempt to ‘exorcise’ the Incredible Hulk – and it’s not about physical training, but something much more profound.
Spider-Man/Hulk: Fire & Brimstone #1 hits store shelves on August 8!
