Anita Dobson, known for her role on EastEnders, is expected to appear in an upcoming episode of Channel 5’s crime series, The Good Ship Murder.
According to The Sun, the actress who originally played Angie Watts on the BBC soap – a role she first took on when the show began in 1985 and continued until 1988 – will be filming new scenes in Malta soon. She famously returned as a ghostly apparition last year to celebrate the show’s 40th anniversary.
I heard through the grapevine that the show is really making a splash with its guest appearances, and they’re absolutely thrilled to have landed Anita Dobson – a true icon of British soap opera! It’s a big get for them, apparently.
The source continued: “The cast and crew are all buzzing.”
TopMob has contacted Channel 5 for comment.

“The Good Ship Murder” features Shayne Ward and Catherine Tyldesley, both known from “Coronation Street,” as a former detective who now performs cabaret and a skilled First Officer. The series follows them as they investigate a series of murders while also dealing with a developing romance.
Following its popularity, the show was renewed for a fourth season in March.
The news was both happy and sad. While fans are excited about Tyldesley returning to Coronation Street, it was also announced that her role as Kate Woods will end with the first episode of season four. This comes after she recently reprised her role as Eva Price last October.

The drama series has been airing since 2023, and both Tyldesley and Ward have been involved from the very beginning.
Season three started airing on January 6th, picking up after Jack had been fired from the ship and split up with Kate.
