1. Academy Award winner Holly Hunter portrays Nahla Ake, the leader of Starfleet Academy as Chancellor and Captain of the U.S.S. Athena, who is also a long-lived hybrid between a human and Lanthanite.

2. Sandro Rosta takes on the role of Caleb Mir, a troubled orphan with an uncertain future in Starfleet.

3. Karim Diané plays Jay-Den Kraag, a cadet from the Klingon Empire aspiring to become a medical officer.
