Directive 8020, The Latest Dark Pictures Anthology Title, is Out Now

It’s been a while since the last major installment in The Dark Pictures AnthologyThe Devil in Me came out in 2022. Now, Directive 8020 is here, marking a change from the series’ usual yearly releases. This new title is a sci-fi horror story that follows the crew of the spaceship Cassiopeia, a departure from the previous games’ settings.

Okay, so picture this: we’re on a colony ship, doing a routine survey of Tau Ceti f, when BAM – we crash land. Just when you think it can’t get worse, this creepy alien starts hunting us. It’s not just that it can rip people apart, which is bad enough, but it can copy people, looking exactly like them! Talk about a nightmare – it creates total chaos and you can’t trust anyone!

Who you choose to trust will significantly impact the fate of the remaining colonists. Success or failure isn’t simply about right or wrong choices this time; it depends on the relationships you build with your crew. If things go badly, you can use the new Turning Points system to go back and make different decisions at key moments.

I’m so excited about Directive 8020! It’s finally out on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. I just read a great article that explains everything about the game, and it’s really interesting how the gameplay is different from Supermassive’s other story-driven games.
