As a devoted PlayStation fan, I’m thrilled about the latest day-one game exclusive to PlayStation Plus! Unlike Xbox Game Pass that frequently offers multiple day-one games monthly, it’s not often we see this with PS Plus. But, what makes this even more exciting is that this new addition is a standout among July’s offerings. However, for those of us on the Essential tier of PS Plus, we’ll need to upgrade to either the Extra or Premium tiers to access this fantastic new game.
The game we’re discussing, which is now available for free on PlayStation Plus, goes by the name Abiotic Factor. This is a survival crafting game that can be enjoyed solo or with up to five friends. The game originates from Deep Field Games, the same developers who released Unfortunate Spacemen in 2020, and is being published by Playstack. Notably, Abiotic Factor is the second project from Deep Field Games.
Although Metacritic doesn’t yet have a review score for the latest PlayStation Plus game due to an insufficient number of reviews, it boasts excellent feedback from users across various platforms. For instance, on Steam, it has garnered a remarkable 96% approval rating based on almost 25,000 user reviews, earning the highest possible rating, “Overwhelmingly Positive.” On the PlayStation Store, it holds a 4.4 out of 5 rating following approximately 1,400 user reviews.
The survival crafting game ‘Abiotic Factor’ is for 1-6 players, set deep within an underground research facility on PlayStation Plus. In this scenario, brilliant minds find themselves in a perilous situation due to a paranormal leak, a military conflict, and turmoil from multiple dimensions. They must band together to overcome the greatest threats the universe has to offer.
The game called Abiotic Factor is priced at $34.99 on the PlayStation Store. This means that PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium subscribers will save some money since it’s included in their subscription. However, please note that there is no PS4 version; only a PS5 version is available. Unfortunately, we don’t know yet how long this game will be accessible through PS Plus Extra and PS Plus Premium as the details have not been disclosed. Similar to Xbox Game Pass deals, Sony tends to keep these PS Plus deals secret until they are announced, which can sometimes take years.
