Punisher: One Last Kill Adds 5 Marvel Characters to the MCU (& 2 Returns)

The special presentation, The Punisher: One Last Kill, has been celebrated for its intense and epic portrayal of Frank Castle facing numerous enemies. While many Marvel movies and shows feature large casts pulled from the comics, One Last Kill stands out by focusing on a smaller group – just five Marvel characters – to enhance its gritty and focused storyline.

The new comic, One Last Kill, brings back some familiar faces from the Marvel universe. It introduces Ma Gnucci, a significant villain created by Garth Ennis, and includes at least one actor who previously appeared in the Marvel Netflix series—with suggestions that more may return. Here’s a complete list of the confirmed cast for Punisher: One Last Kill.

Judith Light is Ma Gnucci

Judith Light is a well-loved television actress, known for her roles in popular shows like One Life to Live, Who’s the Boss?, Ugly Betty, and Poker Face. However, she’s now playing a very different kind of character: Ma Gnucci, a ruthless crime boss with a grudge against the Punisher. In the original comics, Ma Gnucci led a criminal family that was destroyed by the Punisher. She tried to get revenge by hiring hitmen, and their final showdown took place at a zoo, where the Punisher famously had her killed by polar bears.

Light hinted that viewers might be surprised by the upcoming portrayal of Ma Gnucci, explaining it’s a story about change and the consequences of holding onto anger. While the comic book version of the character uses a wheelchair, and a wheelchair was spotted during filming, the Ma Gnucci appearing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to be physically able-bodied, possessing all her limbs – a departure from the comic books.

The Gnucci Crime Family

Marvel has apparently confirmed four members of the Gnucci crime family:

  • Ma’s brother Dino Gnucci, who – in the comics – was killed by the Punisher despite Daredevil’s intervention
  • Ma’s three sons Eddie, Bobbie, and Carlo Gucci, all of whom have apparently been killed by the Punisher (as in the comics)

Jon Bernthal is the Punisher

Jon Bernthal first appeared as the Punisher in 2016 on the second season of Daredevil. The character officially joined the main Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2025 with the first season of Daredevil: Born Again, and also stars in this special presentation. He’ll then be seen in Spider-Man: Brand New Day, seemingly protecting Sadie Sink’s character, who is rumored to be Jean Grey in the MCU. Punisher: One Last Kill serves as a bridge connecting different versions of Frank Castle’s story.

Jason R. Moore is Curtis Hoyle

The upcoming trailer for Punisher: One Last Kill reveals that Jason R. Moore is returning as Curtis Hoyle, a character he previously played in the Marvel Netflix series The Punisher. Hoyle, a former Navy investigator who lost a leg in service, assisted the Punisher but later went his own way. Moore has also appeared in shows like Sentinel, First Kill, and The Quad.
