Disney+ has announced when the second season of Ahsoka will be available. Rosario Dawson will return as Ahsoka, the experienced Jedi whose adventures have taken place throughout many eras, from the time before the Empire to the rise of the First Order.
The character first appeared in the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars, with Ashley Eckstein providing the voice. While initial reactions were mixed, she quickly became a beloved character among fans.
Rosario Dawson, known for her roles in Daredevil and Sin City, first appeared as the character in live-action in season 2 of The Mandalorian. Now, she’s leading this new spin-off series created by Dave Filoni, who also oversees Lucasfilm.
The show Ahsoka was well-received by both critics and audiences when it premiered in August 2023, but fans have been waiting a while for news about season two. The good news is that it’s now expected to launch in early 2027, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Following the success of Star Wars: Rebels, the series Ahsoka introduced beloved animated characters like Hera Syndulla and Sabine Wren to live-action. Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Natasha Liu Bordizzo brought these characters to life on screen.
The story focuses on the return of Grand Admiral Thrawn (Lars Mikkelsen), a villain from the Rebels series. He was sent to a different universe at the end of the show, and now a dangerous group is trying to find him.
Baylan Skoll, portrayed by Ray Stevenson in the first season, is a former Jedi who has embraced the dark side. His story is particularly interesting because it connects to the powerful, ancient beings from Mortis – a storyline originally featured in the animated series The Clone Wars.
Sadly, actor Ivana Miličević Stevenson passed away unexpectedly in 2023. Rory McCann, known for his work on Game of Thrones, will now play the role. The cast of Ahsoka also features Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker, Eman Esfandi as Ezra Bridger, and David Tennant as Huyang.
Season 2 of Ahsoka was filmed in the UK last year. It’s now the only live-action Star Wars show still in production, after Andor finished its run, The Acolyte was cancelled, and The Mandalorian will now be released as a movie this month.
The Mandalorian and Grogu have helped revitalize the Star Wars franchise in theaters, and that momentum will continue with a new film, Starfighter, starring Ryan Gosling, planned for next year. Plans are also underway for a tenth main Star Wars movie.
Ahsoka season 2 is coming soon to Disney+. Sign-up to Disney+ from £5.99 a month.
