While a release is still several years off, Round8 Studio has officially started full development on the Lies of P sequel.
Neowiz, the publisher, announced in a recent financial report (reported by IGN) that the initial design for their next game has been given the go-ahead.
Sales of the first game’s expansion, Overture, have slowed down but remain strong, and it’s already been a commercial success. The original game itself has sold more than four million copies since it launched.
Players are already wondering what the next Lies of P game will be like, especially after the intriguing teaser shown after the credits. The original game is highly praised as one of the best Soulslike titles not created by FromSoftware, and it was Round8 Studio’s first foray into the genre. A proper sequel has the potential to be amazing.
The only concern is the potential use of AI in the follow-up.
Our review gave Lies of P an 8/10, and we highlighted its unique, dark reimagining of the Pinocchio story as a major strength. Beyond that, the game boasts excellent combat and deep customization options, making it a top-tier experience for fans of FromSoftware’s games.
