In 2026, the third season of “Interview With the Vampire” (renamed as “The Vampire Lestat“) will air on AMC, bringing significant changes based on Anne Rice’s novels. At San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend, fans were given a sneak peek into the upcoming season. The series creators announced key castings such as Gabriella, Marius, and Magnus, alongside confirming that Delainey Hayles and Assad Zaman will reprise their roles as Claudia and Armand respectively. Catch a glimpse of the making of “The Vampire Lestat” in the video below.
Season 3 Introduces Major Characters From Lestat’s Story
In the upcoming Season 3, several significant characters from Lestat’s narrative will make their debut, and AMC has announced the actors who will portray them. The star of “Lioness,” Jennifer Ehle, is set to play Gabrielle, Lestat’s mother, a character that showrunner Rollin Jones has mentioned as being crucial in Season 3. Christopher Heyerdahl from “Under the Banner of Heaven” has been chosen for Marius, the one who made Armand, while Slings & Arrows’ Damien Atkins will play Magnus, the one who created Lestat. Ella Ballentine from Black Cornflux will portray Baby Jenks, and Jeanine Serralles from “Apples Never Fall” will take on the role of Christine Claire, Lestat’s lawyer.
Anticipation for the new characters is high, but it’s Gabrielle’s appearance that fans are especially excited about. This introduction is expected to significantly affect Lestat, a detail that showrunner Rollins Jones had earlier shared with Entertainment Weekly.
In Season 3, he said she’ll arrive with the force of a comet, leaving havoc in her path.
Furthermore, it was mentioned earlier that both Hayles and Zaman are set to reprise their characters, Claudia and Armand respectively. Fans might find Hayles’ return as Claudia unexpected, given that her character met her demise in Season 2 of Interview with the Vampire. However, the new series, The Vampire Chronicles, promises to offer a fresh perspective, with Lestat sharing his tale, complete with a dash of rock and roll.
Meet Rock Star Lestat
Last year at the San Diego Comic-Con, it was disclosed that Season 3 would showcase Lestat transforming into a full-blown rock star. Interestingly, the actor playing Lestat, Sam Reid, will be singing in this season, as he mentioned in a recent conversation.
Reid stated that the music was introduced initially in a surprising move for a production heavily reliant on dialogue. This transition from intricate, complex language structures to melodies and simpler lyrics was quite intriguing. For a moment, it felt like I was stumbling and shouting.
When Does The Vampire Lestat Debut?
Fans have already caught glimpses of Season 3 of Interview With the Vampire, however, they’ll need to be patient before The Vampire Lestat makes his appearance and performs. Production on the series is ongoing, and earlier this year it was revealed that Season 3 is aiming for a 2026 release, but a specific date has not been confirmed yet.
