Sharon Stone’s family has experienced a difficult loss.
On May 13th, the 68-year-old confirmed the passing of her older brother, Mike Stone, who was 74 and had been dealing with health issues.
Sharon shared the sad news on Instagram that her older brother, Mike Stone, has died after a long illness. She expressed a wish for him to rest in peace.
She signed the note with her own name and the names of her three sons: Roan Joseph Bronstein Stone, age 25, Laird Vonne Stone, 21, and Quinn Kelly Stone, 19.
After hearing the news, Sharon received supportive messages from her friends and colleagues. Cary Elwes wrote, “So sorry for your loss, Sharon,” and Debi Mazar offered her condolences, saying, “My condolences, Sharon.”
I’ve always been a fan of both Sharon and her brother, Mike! While Sharon rightfully gets a lot of attention, Mike was a talented actor too. He worked on some cool films in the 90s, like Eraser and Malevolence. It was so neat seeing them both together in The Quick and the Dead back in ’95 – and alongside the amazing Gene Hackman, no less! It’s a film I still enjoy revisiting.
Sharon and her family have experienced a series of devastating losses. In 2023, she mourned the death of her brother, Patrick Stone, who passed away from a heart attack at the age of 57. Sadly, Patrick had previously lost his 11-month-old son, River, to organ failure in August 2021. River’s mother is Tasha Stone, Patrick’s wife. Sharon’s sister, Kelly, is also part of the family grieving these losses.
Following her brother’s passing, Sharon expressed her family’s gratitude for the outpouring of love and support, as reported by People magazine. In a now-deleted Instagram video, she acknowledged the family’s recent losses, noting that many others have experienced similar grief in the past couple of years.

She went on to say that they understand the impact of these losses and are grateful for all the love and support they’ve received. She simply asked everyone to continue being kind. Thank you.
