5 Amazing He-Man Characters That Might Be Missing From the New Masters of the Universe Movie

The upcoming Masters of the Universe movie will feature a lot of beloved characters from the original series, not just the main heroes and villains. Along with He-Man, Man-At-Arms, Skeletor, and Evil-Lyn, fans can expect to see characters like Mekaneck, Ram Man, Goat Man, and Moss Man. However, with so many characters to choose from, some fan favorites might not make the cut. Here’s a look at 5 awesome He-Man characters who may not appear in the film.

5. Stratos

Among the potential heroes for a Masters of the Universe movie, Stratos stands out. As the leader of the Bird People of Avion, he quickly becomes a valuable ally to He-Man in the original cartoon series. Having a flying hero with a jetpack for extra speed was a great asset, and proved useful to He-Man both in the cartoon and the accompanying mini-comics.

Stratos is a visually striking character with a helpful skill set, and considering his leadership role and his people’s importance on Eternia, he’d be a strong fit for the movie. While he isn’t currently appearing in the film, he would be an excellent addition if they make a sequel.

4. Scare Glow

Now, let’s talk about the villains, starting with Scare Glow. Even though the Masters of the Universe already had Skeletor, Scare Glow still stands out. He’s a spooky, glowing skeleton from another dimension, usually depicted with a purple cape and a see-through or glow-in-the-dark appearance, giving him a unique and memorable design.

Scare Glow doesn’t have a deeply established history, which actually works in his favor. He could easily be integrated into the current movie universe. Though he started as a reluctant ally of Skeletor, he’s proven he can be a strong villain independently, as shown in Masters of the Universe: Revelation. If he’s not in the new movie, he has the potential to be a significant villain in a future installment.

3. She-Ra

Though most of these characters are best known from the He-Man stories, She-Ra became popular enough to have her own cartoon and toys. However, she’s still closely connected to the Masters of the Universe universe – she’s Prince Adam’s twin sister! As a baby, she was kidnapped by Hordak (we’ll talk more about him shortly). She-Ra’s secret identity is Adora, and just like He-Man, she uses a special sword – the Sword of Protection – to transform into her powerful alter ego.

The footage hasn’t shown She-Ra yet, which is expected since the story is currently focused on Prince Adam reconnecting with his friends and family on Eternia. However, bringing She-Ra into the story later on would create a really strong combination for the next installment.

2. Hordak

We’ve talked about Hordak, and for good reason. While Skeletor is He-Man’s biggest enemy, Hordak is often even more ruthless, depending on the version of the story. Interestingly, Hordak was once Skeletor’s teacher, and they both originally kidnapped Adora as a baby. However, Skeletor betrayed Hordak, trapping him in another dimension, which created a lasting rivalry. After that, Hordak tried to defeat Skeletor, as well as He-Man and his friends, with the ultimate goal of conquering Eternia.

Hordak would make a fantastic main villain for the next movie, smoothly connecting the stories of She-Ra and He-Man. It would also be interesting to see He-Man and Skeletor team up to defeat him. If the filmmakers want to increase the tension and excitement, Hordak is an excellent choice.

1. Orko

Okay, so let’s talk Orko! He’s the big mystery surrounding the new Masters of the Universe movie, at least for me. I’ve seen all sorts of speculation – some people think he is in the film, but they’re keeping him hidden as a surprise, while others believe he’s being saved for a potential sequel. As a long-time fan of the original cartoon, I always loved Orko and his look just fits the version of Eternia they’ve created on screen, so I’m really hoping he shows up somehow!

Orko is such a delightful character that the franchise really needs him. If he doesn’t appear in the first movie, fans are hoping he’ll be introduced in the next one. A funny and unpredictable wizard like Orko would create some fantastic moments, and we’re excited to finally see him get his chance to shine on screen, whenever that may be.

Masters of the Universe is set to hit theaters on June 5th, 2026.
