Warning: Major spoilers ahead for Good Omens season 3.
With the final season of Good Omens now released, David Tennant and Michael Sheen have shared their thoughts on the show’s poignant and thought-provoking conclusion, marking a permanent farewell to the popular fantasy series.
The final episode of the series brought Aziraphale, played by Michael Sheen, and David Tennant’s Crowley back together to deal with the Second Coming, after a heartbreaking separation at the end of the previous season.
Despite fixing their relationship, the couple ultimately gave their lives to ensure a future where humanity could make its own choices. They confessed their love before sharing a deeply emotional goodbye.
The story ended with a hint of what happened far in the future: billions of years later, a human version of Crowley, now an astrophysicist named Anthony Crowley, and Aziraphale, a bookseller named Asa Fell, met again. The final moments showed a happy life together, implying they were destined to find each other, no matter what.
In a behind-the-scenes discussion after the final episode, Sheen explained that Aziraphale and Crowley ultimately choose to destroy themselves to protect humanity. They prioritize people’s freedom and ability to make their own choices, even if it means sacrificing their own existence.
They prioritize what they feel is best for everyone else, even if it means sacrificing their own joy. Little do they know, life will always find a path forward.

Tennant described the experience as deeply thoughtful, saying it felt unlike anything he’d done before, yet completely natural as a conclusion to the story. He sees it as a reflection on what it means to be human, something he’ll always cherish and remember.
“It’s incredibly bittersweet to get to the end of it,” Sheen went on to say.
After Neil Gaiman left the show, the third season of Good Omens was changed from a six-episode series into a single, 96-minute finale.
Neil Gaiman, who co-wrote the series Good Omens, stepped away after facing sexual assault allegations, which he firmly denies. While he did contribute to the final episode’s writing, he wasn’t involved in the production itself, nor was his company, Blank Corporation.
Nine women have publicly accused the writer of misconduct, as reported in a January 2025 article by Vulture and a July 2024 podcast from Tortoise Media.
The accusations against Gaiman involved claims of sexual activity, including rough sex and BDSM, that he allegedly engaged in without the other person’s agreement. Gaiman has strongly stated that he never engaged in any activity that was not consensual or legal.
When I read these recent stories, some parts felt familiar, while others didn’t. It’s a mix of descriptions of things that actually occurred and things that clearly didn’t.

I’m not perfect, but I’ve never been involved in any sexual activity without the other person’s full consent. Not once.
David Tennant has confirmed they are filming a final season of Good Omens. He told The Independent that they are returning to complete the series.
We’ve made a few changes to the team, but we’re still able to finish telling the story. It would have been frustrating to end things without a resolution, so I’m happy we were able to find a way to wrap it up.
You can now watch Season 3 of Good Omens on Prime Video. New subscribers can try Amazon Prime for 30 days free of charge.
