Duck Dynasty’s Alan Robertson Forgives Wife Lisa Robertson for Affair

Alan Robertson and Lisa Robertson are discussing a difficult time in their lives.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve seen firsthand how challenging infidelity can be for any couple. The Robertson family from Duck Dynasty recently shared their story – how they navigated a difficult time when Lisa had an affair about 15 years into their marriage. It’s a really honest look at a long-term relationship, and they’re opening up about it all in their new movie, Faith & Forgiveness. Alan told Fox News Digital in a recent interview that while infidelity often leads to divorce, it doesn’t have to be the end of a marriage. He believes that couples can overcome even the most difficult challenges and work things out.

Lisa and Alan married in 1984 and have two daughters, Anna and Alex. In the 1990s, Lisa had an affair with someone she used to date. When Alan discovered it, they briefly separated, but they eventually worked things out and reaffirmed their commitment to each other with a vow renewal ceremony in 1999.

Alan shared that he was motivated to work on his marriage because he knew he hadn’t been his best self. He described how Lisa was a kind person who had faced difficulties and was hoping for someone to support and guide her, but he hadn’t stepped up to be that person when they first met.

The reality star admitted that his work as a pastor often left his wife feeling alone and isolated because he was frequently away from home.

Looking back, I realize I really dropped the ball by not bringing Lisa on board as a partner in my work and everything I was building. She was navigating some personal challenges stemming from her childhood, and honestly, I just didn’t pick up on it at the time. I didn’t see what she was going through.

Lisa’s struggles were largely due to childhood sexual abuse she experienced.

She told Fox News that she experienced abuse starting at age seven. She believes this trauma led her to hide her true self and be dishonest from a young age.

He explained that the temptation to lie started with constant negative thoughts. “That’s when I began down a path of dishonesty, and things really started to darken,” he said. “It just got progressively worse as I got older.”

Alan believed it was important to forgive his wife, remembering that he hadn’t always been faithful himself before they were married. She had forgiven him then, and they had built a life and family together.

I was able to forgive the infidelity because I was so grateful for everything both God and Lisa had done for me. That was the turning point, and we knew we would rebuild our relationship.

After 42 years together, Lisa believes she and Alan have discovered the key to a successful marriage.

She emphasized the importance of honesty, saying it’s the key to a strong and lasting marriage.

Phil Robertson and his wife, Miss Kay (born Marsha Kay Carroway), shared a 59-year marriage. Phil passed away in May 2025 at the age of 79.

Phil Robertson, the founder of Duck Commander, and his wife Kay raised four sons: Alan, Jason (known as Jase), Willie, and Jep. Phil also has a daughter, Phyllis, born from a relationship outside of his marriage in the 1970s.

Although Jase, the COO of Duck Commander, created some of the company’s most recognizable duck calls, he isn’t considered the family’s fortune-teller.

I initially doubted the show would succeed,” he admitted to Fox News after Duck Dynasty became a huge hit. “Our family is definitely unique, but I didn’t believe viewers would be interested in watching us.”

Reed and his wife, Brighton Robertson, have three children: daughters Merris and Frances, and son David. Cole is marrying Emily Hamn in 2025.

Willie has led Duck Commander as CEO since 2002, but in June 2025, he revealed he’s stepping back from the role, though not completely retiring.

In 1992, he married Korie Howard, and together they have six children. Their family includes Rebecca Robertson, who joined them as a 16-year-old exchange student in 2004 after being born in Portland, Oregon, and raised in Taiwan, and was fully embraced as one of their own. They also have John Luke Robertson, Sadie Robertson, Bella Robertson, Will Robertson Jr. (adopted when he was just 5 weeks old in 2001), and Rowdy Robertson, who was 13 years old when he was adopted in 2016.

By the premiere of season two of Duck Dynasty: The Revival on March 7, 2026, the couple will be grandparents to eleven children. Luke and his wife, Mary Kate Robertson, have five kids, while Sadie and her husband, Christian Huff, are parents to three daughters. Their daughter Rebecca and her husband, John Reed, have two sons, Zane and Xander, and one daughter, Holland.

Luke and Mary Kate have been married since June 2015 and are parents to five children: John Shepherd, born October 14, 2019; Ella, born April 8, 2021; Wells, born September 12, 2023; and twins Sylvie and Francie, born February 24, 2026.

Sadie and Christian got married in 2019 at the Louisiana home of the Robertson family, known for their faith-based lifestyle. Christian founded 4:8 Men, a fitness company built on religious values.

The host of the That’s Good podcast shared with People magazine that when someone makes you a better person and is your closest friend, you naturally want to be with them every day. They expressed excitement about finally being able to spend each day together.

The couple has three daughters: Honey James Huff, born in May 2021; Haven Belle Huff, born in May 2023; and Kit Carroway Huff, born in August 2025.

Youngest Robertson brother Jep has been married to Jessica since 2001.

They share three daughters—Lily, Merritt and Priscilla—as well as sons River and Gus.

The family is expanding quickly! Lily and Austin Staulbaum welcomed their son, Winston Ezelle Stalbaum, in February 2025. Priscilla and Dillon Nash had a daughter, August Mae Nash, on October 6, 2025, and Merritt and Tyler Metro welcomed their daughter, Nellie Jane Metro, in December.

Silas Robertson, known as Uncle Si to fans of the show Duck Dynasty, has been married to Christine Robertson since 1971. He’s Phil Robertson’s younger brother and often steals the show with his personality.

The Army vet and his bride share daughter Trasa and son Scott.

Trasa and her husband, Kyle Coburn, are parents to four sons. Scott also has four children with his wife, Marsha Robertson, who is a musician and plays in a band with her father-in-law called Uncle Si & the Sicotics.

Phil unexpectedly learned later in life that he had a daughter from an affair he’d had in the 1970s.

In March 2020, the family announced the news together on their podcast, Unashamed, with the father joined by his sons Al, Jase, Willie, and Jep.

Al received a letter from Phyllis Thomas suggesting they might be siblings. After considering it, Al spoke with his parents, and Phil agreed to take a DNA test to confirm.

Phyllis was subsequently welcomed into the fold.

Korie told TopMob News in 2023 that Kay immediately embraced Phyllis when she joined the family. “From the very beginning, Kay welcomed her and she quickly became one of us,” Korie explained.
