Get ready for a new suspenseful drama coming to Channel 5! Called ‘The Fortune’, this psychological thriller is arriving soon, and TopMob has the first exclusive look at the official trailer.
I just watched the trailer, and it immediately grabbed my attention! It features Eleanor Tomlinson – you might recognize her from Poldark – playing Amanda Blakefield. She’s right in the middle of a hectic shift at the café where she works when a lawyer shows up with news that’s going to completely turn her world upside down. It looks really interesting!
I was completely captivated when Nina Wadia’s character revealed to Amanda that she was about to inherit a massive estate – and over £2 million! The really shocking part? It all belonged to someone she’d never even met. It was such a bizarre and intriguing twist!
Amanda is uneasy about accepting so much money and wants to understand who this man really is. However, when she tries to learn the truth, she meets his family, who don’t welcome her very warmly.
Amanda’s husband, Jimmy (played by Matthew Lewis, known from Harry Potter), attempts to convince her to be rational. Meanwhile, Callum Woodhouse (from All Creatures Great and Small) plays a villainous character determined to prevent Amanda from receiving any money.
Amanda was facing increasing pressure and threats, and then she declared her intentions: she hadn’t originally planned to claim their property, but now she was determined to take it all. This definitely grabbed our attention!
Eleanor Tomlinson stars in The Fortune, but many viewers will know her from previous performances in shows like Poldark, One Day, and her recent role in The Forsytes.
She’s acting alongside Lewis, Woodhouse, Wadia, and a talented group including Rebecca Front (known for ‘The Thick of It’), Stephen Tompkinson (‘DCI Banks’), Paula Wilcox (‘Trying’), Danielle Walters (‘Chewing Gum’), and Denis Lawson (‘Bleak House’).
The show centers around Amanda, whose life is turned upside down when she unexpectedly inherits a fortune from a stranger. This inheritance draws her into the complex world of the Worrall family, headed by Martin Worrall (played by Lawson), a man with a family history full of hidden secrets.
The more Amanda uncovers about the past and her connections to it, the more chaotic things become for everyone involved.
We don’t have a firm release date for the series yet, but it’s expected to arrive soon. It will have four episodes, making it ideal for watching all at once.
