Jill Curzon, best known for playing a role in the Doctor Who spin-off movie ‘Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 AD’, has passed away at 87 years old.
The actress was most famous for playing Louise, the niece of the time traveller portrayed by Peter Cushing, in the 1966 series.
Pete Sims, a close friend of actress Curzon, told the Press Association that she passed away peacefully at her home in Spain last month.
According to Sims, who helped the actress write her memoir last year, she was a warm and giving person with a real passion for living.
She was a delight to be with and loved sharing stories about her life in America during the 60s and 70s, especially memories of the famous people she knew, like Robert Wagner and other big stars.
I really enjoyed listening to her stories, so it’s no surprise her book was a passion project. She spent around twelve years writing it, carefully ensuring every detail was perfect and accurate.
Besides appearing in a Doctor Who spin-off – a continuation of the 1965 film Dr. Who and the Daleks – Curzon was a familiar face on 1960s television, with roles in shows like The Champions, Adam Adamant Lives!, The Saint, Hugh and I, and Disneyland.
She also appeared in films including Dr. Syn, Alias the Scarecrow, and Smokescreen.
Speaking with Doctor Who Magazine, actress Annette Curzon fondly remembered her work on Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 AD. She expressed her gratitude for being involved and shared that the cast had no idea the show would remain popular for so long. While television helped keep the series alive, she noted that people still enjoy watching the original films.
She added: “I remember every scene. And I enjoyed every minute of it.”
Curzon is survived by her daughter Michelle King and grandson Taj.
