Fans of Dragon Ball are in for a treat! Not only is the series continuing with the manga and a new installment, Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol, but classic battles are getting a fresh look. Remastered versions of Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods and Dragon Ball Super: Resurrection of F are on the way, and this summer will also bring back a surprising spin-off: Dragon Ball Daima. This highly anticipated series is set to release soon, giving fans even more adventures with Goku and the Z-Fighters.
This August, Crunchyroll will release Dragon Ball Daima: The Complete Season on Blu-Ray, giving fans a physical copy of the series that officially added Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta and Super Saiyan 4 Goku to the Dragon Ball story. The set, available in North America on August 11th, includes all 20 episodes of the spin-off, plus some original content. The standard edition comes with the series and new English dubs of the opening and ending themes, along with textless versions of those songs. A limited edition is also available, featuring 7 silver foil art cards, a sticker featuring miniature versions of Goku, Vegeta, and Piccolo, and a special rigid box with artwork by the anime’s character designer. You can find more information and pre-order the set by clicking here.

Will Daima’s Demon Realm Return?

There’s currently no confirmation of a second season for Dragon Ball Daima, and it’s possible one won’t happen. Toei Animation hasn’t given any indication that the story will continue, despite the final episode suggesting a larger conflict with more “Evil Eyes” than initially seen. It seems Toei is focusing on other anime projects right now. While elements from Daima, like certain transformations, could reappear in future Dragon Ball content, fans might have to wait a while to see them.
Even with new Dragon Ball projects like Dragon Ball Super: Beerus and Dragon Ball Super: The Galactic Patrol in the works, Shonen Jump hasn’t announced when the Dragon Ball Super manga will continue. It’s been a while since the manga adapted the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie, and as of now, artist Toyotaro hasn’t said whether the manga will continue following creator Akira Toriyama’s death. Although the Daima anime is set before Dragon Ball Super, fans haven’t seen Vegeta use Super Saiyan 3 or Goku use Super Saiyan 4 in any fights, so manga readers are hoping those transformations will appear in future installments.
