Even before the first season finished airing, Sky announced that the comedy sketch show would be back for a second season. This was great news for fans and proved the doubters wrong.
Phil Edgar-Jones, head of original unscripted programming at Sky, said many people weren’t sure if Saturday Night Live would succeed in the UK. However, thanks to Lorne Michaels, the experienced SNL production team, UTAS UK, and a fantastic cast and writing team, SNL UK has become Sky’s most popular and discussed show this year.

Will there be a Saturday Night Live UK season 2?
Yes, it’s happening! Sky announced that SNL UK will return for a second season with twice as many episodes as before – a total of 12!
Lorne Michaels, the creator and executive producer of SNL, expressed his pride in the show and its team, noting its continued improvement. He thanked Dana Strong and Sky for their support of SNL UK and shared his enthusiasm for the upcoming season.
When will Saturday Night Live UK season 2 be released?
I’m really excited to hear that the series is coming back in September! Sky hasn’t given us a specific date just yet, but knowing it’s scheduled for September is great news.
Given the show airs on a Saturday, it’ll be one of the four!
The show’s twelve episodes are scheduled to begin airing in fall 2026 and continue into early 2027. Similar to the American version, there will be short breaks in the schedule to give the actors and production team time to rest between episodes.
Who will star in Saturday Night Live UK season 2?
I’m really excited for the second season of SNL UK! Sky hasn’t officially said who will be hosting each episode yet, but everyone’s guessing we’ll see the same funny comedians from season one back to lead things again. Fingers crossed!
