Okay, so tonight’s a big night for fight fans! I’m really excited to watch Ronda Rousey go up against Gina Carano – it’s happening live from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles. And the best part? You can stream it on Netflix! It kicks off at 6 PM Pacific Time, or 9 PM Eastern. It’s available with any of their streaming plans, and they’ve got a full card of 11 fights leading up to the main event – Rousey versus Carano will be the last fight of the night, so stick around!
The Main Card

Before the main event, several exciting fights are scheduled. These include Chris Avila versus Brandon Jenkins, Aline Pereira versus Jade Masson-Wong, David McGoyan versus Albert Morales, Jason Jackson versus Jefferson Creighton, Adriano Moraes versus Phumi Nkuta, and Namo Fazil versus Jake Babian. Weight classes for some of these fights are catchweight, while others are in the featherweight and welterweight divisions.
The main card also features several exciting fights. You’ll see Junior Dos Santos take on Robelis Despaigne in the heavyweight division, and Salahdine Parnasse face Kenneth Cross in a lightweight bout. Plus, Francis Ngannou is back in action, fighting Philipe Lins.
The fight between Nate Diaz and Mike Perry (in the welterweight division) is expected to be a highlight of the event, alongside the main event. That main event will feature Rousey versus Carano, and it’s a huge fight for Netflix – not just in terms of popularity, but also as a major moment for women’s sports on the platform.
The Timeline

Both Ronda Rousey and Miesha Tate have taken different paths to return to fighting, but let’s begin with Rousey. From 2011 to 2016, she was the dominant force in women’s MMA, known for her strong wrestling and takedowns. She remained undefeated until losing to Holly Holm in 2015. After a second loss to Amanda Nunes in 2016, Rousey left the UFC and spent several years wrestling in WWE. In 2023, she had her final WWE match against Shayna Baszler, effectively ending her wrestling career, aside from a few minor appearances.
Gina Carano was a groundbreaking figure in women’s MMA. She participated in the first officially recognized women’s MMA fight in Nevada and was the first woman to headline a major MMA event on Showtime, facing Cris Cyborg. She hasn’t competed in nearly 17 years, having transitioned to a successful acting career that included a role in the popular series The Mandalorian.
Both fighters are back where their careers began, and after a few years of anticipation, they’re finally facing each other. In an interview with Netflix, Carano shared that Rousey expressed gratitude for Carano paving the way for her and respectfully requested the match. Carano feels honored and confident she will win, though she expects a tough fight, which she welcomes.
Ronda Rousey recently announced to Netflix that she and Gina Carano are finally going to fight each other. She described it as the biggest fight ever in women’s mixed martial arts, and said it’s a dream come true for fans of the sport, both old and new.
You can tune into the fight starting at 9 PM EST on Netflix.
