One Piece Is All Set to Answer The Biggest Question From The Skypiea Arc

Please be aware that this article contains spoilers from the One Piece manga. The Elbaph Arc in One Piece is reaching a critical point, with the battle against the Holy Knights taking a surprising turn after the arrival of Imu. Imu’s introduction is bringing the story closer to revealing the truth about the Void Century. Although Luffy and Loki initially gave the heroes an advantage, Imu’s appearance quickly reversed that. For the first time in eight years, readers have seen what Imu looks like and gotten a taste of their abilities. In the latest chapter, 1182, the Holy Knights are trying to escape with the kidnapped children. The biggest surprise was the appearance of Zaza, the God of Rain, who is helping the villains. Despite being a creation of Killingham’s imagination, Zaza possesses incredible power. The character’s immense size and abilities are particularly foreboding, and the author has high expectations for how the anime will portray them.

Who Is Zaza in One Piece?

I first encountered the God of Rain while reading the Skypiea Arc, specifically in chapter 287, during a flashback. It seems Kalgara’s daughter willingly offered herself as a sacrifice to a serpent, a practice her people believed would bring them aid. During this ritual, the people of Skypiea prayed to several deities – the Gods of the Sun, Rain, Forest, and Earth. Later, in the Wano Country Saga, the God of the Sun, known as Nika, reappeared, embodying the hope for freedom that people were feeling.

Watching Luffy transform into Gear 5, it’s clear he represents a beacon of hope, taking on the appearance of Nika. It’s interesting to contrast that with Zaza from the Elbaph Arc, whose powers come from a Devil Fruit that brings nightmares to life. I’ve noticed the World Nobles fear both Nika and the God of Rain equally. And it’s a strange detail, but because Mary Geoise is built above the clouds, it literally never rains there – rain is something that only happens down in the Lower World.

I’m so excited about the latest developments! It’s amazing how Zaza showed up mirroring Nika’s entrance – tied to those rainmaking rituals. And it hit me that her appearance in this chapter was straight out of Killingham’s head! We still don’t even know what she actually looks like, which is so intriguing. Plus, the ancient mural in Elbaph brought up the four Gods again, hinting that we’ll definitely be seeing the Forest and Earth Gods show up in the Final Saga. I can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!
